Residents Rush For Land Registration After District Merger

Thousands of citizens from Lộc Hà prioritize adjusting land certificates post-merger with Thạch Hà for updated official recognition.

Following the administrative merger of Lộc Hà district with Thạch Hà district on January 1, 2025, residents have flocked to update their land use certificates reflecting their new locality. The Thạch Hà Land Registration Office reported substantial activity, processing over 5,000 certificates shortly after the merger.

Under the new legislation enacted by the National Assembly, the former Lộc Hà district's 11 communes now officially belong to Thạch Hà. This administrative shift not only depicts the growing dynamics of local governance but has also instigated the need for residents to adjust their land documentation as the change affects legalities surrounding property rights.

From February 22 to 23, 2025, during the weekend, the Thạch Hà Land Registration office mobilized significant manpower to expedite the registration process, gathering up to 17 staff to engage directly with residents at local administrative venues. Such measures aimed at ensuring residents can swiftly transition their certificates to reflect the new district boundaries.

"With the changes in residency and administrative boundaries, residents of the former Lộc Hà must adjust their land use certificates," stated Nguyễn Việt Hùng, the head of the Thạch Hà Land Registration Office, emphasizing the urgency these changes present.

An additional focus for the registration efforts is the new information becoming applicable, such as residential addresses and property details, which will now incorporate the administrative changes post-merger. This has undoubtedly raised awareness, prompting many citizens to address their paperwork.

Over the course of just one weekend, the office handled approximately 3,000 residential land certificates and 2,000 agricultural ones, showcasing the substantial interest from the community.

To facilitate the process, the office designated Saturdays and Sundays for local service. "On weekends, our staff are deployed at local governments to assist residents directly with paperwork," added Hùng, reflecting the office's commitment to accommodating the populace's needs amid significant administrative transitions.

Through these heightened efforts, officials are optimistic they can complete the updating of all relevant records by the end of March 2024, providing reassurance to those affected by the merger. The urgency is palpable as residents are reminded of the need to get their paperwork adjusted to avoid any future complications adhering to the newly established administrative framework.

Every step taken not only concerns the practical aspects of land ownership but also signals a larger narrative of governance and adaptability within the community. The drive to align the legal documents of the citizens with the new structural realities serves to solidify their rights and livelihood moving forward under this new administrative banner.
