Repuve Module Relocates To El Chamizal Amid Migrant Reception Efforts

The new site maintains operational hours and services as the city prepares for influx of deported individuals.

Ciudad Juárez - The Repuve (Public Vehicle Registry) module operated by the municipality has officially relocated to the site across from El Punto at ‘Los Hoyos’ of El Chamizal. This change, announced by María Antonieta Mendoza, the director of Citizen Attention, was necessitated by the installation of migrant reception tents at the previous location. The tents are being set up to accommodate repatriated individuals from the United States, marking a significant adjustment for local operations.

Mendoza explained the transition, stating, "We are seeking not to alter much the module of the location serving the Municipal Government." The new Repuve module is situated directly across from El Punto, next to the Biblioavión, located between 5 de Mayo and Moctezuma streets. The relocation aims to maintain accessibility and continuity of services during this transitional period.

The changeover has gone smoothly, with operations commencing at the new site yesterday. The Repuve module will continue its regular hours, operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Mendoza noted the continuity of service during this move, saying, "The service was not interrupted, as citizens with appointments were attended to since early yesterday." Each day, the module sees between 30 to 50 individuals seeking assistance, indicative of the demand for its services.

Currently, people entering the program's platform can schedule appointments for the following day, streamlining the process for citizens needing assistance with vehicle registrations.
The relocation was prompted by the federal government’s action to establish emergency tents on the previous Repuve site for migrants being repatriated. The mayor, Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, affirmed the municipality's readiness to handle the anticipated influx of deported individuals, stating, "The municipality is ready and coordinated with other government entities to attend to those who may arrive at Juárez under this situation." He emphasized the federal government's leadership role during this process, with the municipality maintaining constant alertness.

This prompt and necessary relocation reflects the challenges faced by the city as it grapples with the complex realities of migration and public service. The municipality’s efforts to adapt infrastructure and services highlight its commitment to ensuring support for both residents and migrants during such transitions.

At this point, officials expect the Repuve module to remain at the Los Hoyos location until instructed otherwise. Mendoza confirmed the intention to provide seamless service to the public amid these changes. With these operational adjustments, the city is demonstrating its proactive approach to managing the impacts of migration and ensuring the functionality of important municipal services.

City officials are optimistic about the effectiveness of this temporary arrangement and are monitoring the situation closely. They intend to keep the public informed about any future changes to the location or services offered at the Repuve module, ensuring transparency and accessibility for all citizens.
