Remembering Lives Lost: December 2024 Obituaries

Families gather to celebrate the legacies of Dennis Mackey, Jeffery Kisamore, and Elizabeth Wellman.

December 2024 has been marked by the passing of several beloved individuals whose lives touched many hearts. Among them was Dennis Mackey, who left this world unexpectedly on December 20, 2024, just days after celebrating his 60th birthday.

Born on December 16, 1964, Dennis was known for his exceptional kindness and warm spirit. He is mourned by his loving wife, Michelle Mackey, with whom he shared 36 wonderful years. Together, they raised children Melissa, Justin, Ryan, and Nathan, and were proud grandparents to Isaac, Ezrah, and Zaria. His family described him as the epitome of love and support, always putting others first and bringing smiles to their faces.

Dennis had a passion for Mustangs and enjoyed summer drives, particularly around the bay, with his cherished wife. His legacy of kindness continues even after his passing, as he left behind countless family members and friends who will forever carry his spirit.

Another heartfelt remembrance is of Jeffery Allen Kisamore, born on April 10, 1999, who passed away unexpectedly at 25 years old on August 15, 2024, at his home in Chester. A beloved family member, Jeffery was full of life, known for loving calls and video chats, along with his playful nature, especially with his sister Lauran. He cherished family meals, particularly his mother's home cooking.

Survived by his loving family, including his mother Vickie and her husband Phillip, Jeffery left behind memories of laughter and warmth. A Celebration of Life service is set for December 28, 2024, at Barren Ridge Church, allowing family and friends to honor his vivid spirit together.

Also, Elizabeth Wellman passed away on December 22, 2024, at the age of 94 at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona. Elizabeth's full obituary is forthcoming, but her family will gather for a Celebration of Life Service on December 28, 2024, at Yoder-Powell Funeral Home. John David Kenny will officiate, with burial to follow at West Union Cemetery. The family plans to establish a memorial fund to support both West Union Mennonite Church and the Mennonite Central Committee.

Each of these individuals has left their mark on those who loved them, with their services allowing friends and families to come together, celebrate their lives, and share cherished memories.
