Ekatrenburg is gearing up for the summer with the opening of registration for summer camps slated to start at midnight on March 3. The registration, which will be available online, runs until March 10, according to the city administration's press service. Parents seeking placements for their children can apply through the State Services portal or at any MFC branch.
This summer, the city aims to provide health and recreation services to over 60,000 children, with 27,000 attending summer camps, 32,000 in school-based camps, and 5,000 students benefiting from health resorts across Sverdlovsk Oblast and beyond. From 2025 onwards, parents will also be entitled to four subsidies for camp vouchers, compared to the previous single annual allocation.
Meanwhile, the Institute for Internet Development is launching a competition for regional projects with support from "Master’s Workshop of New Media" on March 3. The competition, open to representatives from various regions excluding Moscow and St. Petersburg, will accept applications until March 31. Total prize funding amounts to 3 million rubles, allocated to projects aligned with themes like "content in the blogosphere" and "special internet projects" focusing on regional subjects.
“We must identify talented and responsible individuals, supporting their ideas and initiatives,” emphasized Yulia Ablets, Deputy Director General of ANO "Dialog Regions". “This is key for advancing the new media sector across the country.” Winners will be announced by the end of July.
On the same day, March 3, begins the application process for free placements at children’s camps during the spring break, particularly for residents of the Muravlenko region. Documents will be accepted starting March 3 for those belonging to privileged categories and from March 6 for everyone else. Applications can be submitted via the website leto.yanao, and queries can be directed to the culture and youth policy department.
Finally, for students interested in the "Student Startup" competition, there’s an online training seminar scheduled for March 3 at 7:00 PM. Elena Bunova, director of the Collective Work Center and grant-winning project leader Milena Ibrahimova, will provide detailed instructions on crafting successful applications, examples of previously successful submissions, and answers to any questions. Interested participants can register for the event using a provided link, and it’s open to undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students with projects falling under seven thematic areas such as digital technologies and medical technologies.
These programs reflect the active engagement of local authorities and educational institutions to provide recreational and developmental opportunities for the youth and support innovative projects throughout the region.
