Registration Opens For Benito Juárez Scholarship Program 2025

The federal initiative aims to support over four million students attending public high schools with bi-monthly financial aid.

The Universal Scholarship for High School Education "Benito Juárez" is set to open its registration on February 5, 2025. This initiative by the Mexican government aims to provide financial assistance to students enrolled in public high schools, offering them 1,900 pesos bi-monthly for the 10-month academic year. The scholarships are part of broader efforts to support educational equity among vulnerable populations across the country.

To qualify, students must meet specific requirements, primarily being enrolled in either high school, technical professional bachillerato, or equivalent institutions. A spokesperson for the National Coordination of Scholarships for the Benito Juárez Well-Being stated, "The first step is to confirm your enrollment at your school, as they are responsible for reporting your academic information to us." This is particularly important as the enrollment information needs to be accurate to avoid registration cancellations due to incomplete or inconsistent data.

Another key criterion is the non-receipt of other federal scholarships aimed at the same educational goals. "Yes, it is compatible with other local, state, or private scholarships for different objectives, such as dual training scholarships, excellence scholarships, sports scholarships, or mobility scholarships," the spokesperson clarified.

Students interested in applying should navigate to the official registration platform at www.gob.mx/becasbenitojuarez, which will be open from February 5 to February 28. They must prepare to provide several documents including their birth certificate, proof of studies, their CURP and identification for both the student and their guardian, and proof of address.

Upon completing the registration process, applicants can check their status through the Digital Status Checker tool, which will inform them of the approval status of their requests. Successful candidates will receive their financial support deposited onto Bank of Well-Being cards based on the disbursement calendar between April 28 and May 2.

The program anticipates reaching around 4,224,381 beneficiaries, who are expected to be enrolled this year alone. The scholarships play a significant role within the framework of social development initiatives aimed at reducing educational disparities, particularly for students from underserved communities.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador emphasized the importance of educational support for vulnerable populations during recent announcements. Speaking on broader welfare initiatives, he noted, "From 35 million households, 30 million at least benefit from one social program or another, targeting our poorest states such as Oaxaca, Chiapas, and Guerrero, where 100% of homes receive some form of government aid." This highlights the widespread impact of these programs and their intended purpose of combating poverty through education.

The Benito Juárez Scholarship Program forms part of the broader strategy encompassing several key initiatives such as the “Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro” (Youth Building the Future) and “Sembrando Vida” (Sowing Life), each aimed at fostering social and economic development across Mexico.

Further information about the registration process and eligibility for the scholarships can be accessed through the official website or social media channels of the National Coordination of Scholarships, ensuring transparency and accessibility for all prospective applicants.
