Real Madrid Dominates Las Palmas 4-1 At Home

Kylian Mbappé scores twice as Madrid rises to the top of La Liga standings

Real Madrid secured a commanding 4-1 victory over Las Palmas at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, propelling them to the top of the La Liga standings. This decisive win, highlighted by Kylian Mbappé's standout performance, came after the team had to respond to an early shock as Las Palmas took the lead just 25 seconds after kick-off.

Fábio Silva stunned the home crowd by scoring for Las Palmas with close-range precision following a cross from Sandro Ramírez. The swift goal set the pace for what seemed to be a challenging match for Real Madrid, but they quickly regrouped.

Mbappé, taking on more responsibility with Vinicius Jr. suspended, equalized for Madrid from the penalty spot just 18 minutes in after Rodrygo was fouled inside the box. His scoring prowess kept shining as he linked up superbly with his teammates, demonstrating his versatility and skill throughout the match.

After Mbappé's equalizer, momentum shifted drastically. Brahim Díaz put Madrid ahead at the half-hour mark, capitalizing on Lucas Vázquez's assist after the young Frenchman’s initial shot was saved by Las Palmas keeper Jasper Cillessen.

Only three minutes later, Mbappé struck again, this time with remarkable timing and precision, slotting the ball effortlessly to the top corner, effectively demoralizing the Canarians. Real Madrid went to the break comfortably leading 3-1.

The second half saw Real Madrid build on their dominance. Just 12 minutes after the restart, Rodrygo added to the tally, coolly slotting home after yet another strong build-up. The home side showed no signs of letting up, continuing to press for more goals.

Las Palmas' troubles compounded when substitute Benito Ramírez received his marching orders following a reckless challenge on Vázquez, reducing the visitors to ten men. The red card, issued after VAR consultation, left Las Palmas struggling to regroup against the relentless Madrid attack.

Despite having three goals chalked off due to offside calls through VAR, Real Madrid's impressive play left fans thoroughly entertained. An exuberant Mbappé spoke after the match, expressing: "It was an important win for us because we took advantage of what happened to Atletico and Barcelona... We looked for space, we scored a lot of goals, I think all the fans enjoyed the game because we played well and now we are leaders.”

With this win, Carlo Ancelotti's side climbed to 46 points, two points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid, who fell to Leganes, and seven points above third-placed Barcelona following their draw against Getafe.

Real Madrid are now gearing up for their next challenge but will aim to remain consistent after this major boost, with Mbappé and Bellingham leading the charge. The victory showcased Madrid’s impressive attacking prowess and resilience, setting the tone for the remainder of the season.
