Upon arrival, the file hills First Nations Police Service found the four deceased individuals inside the home. While police have not released the identities of the deceased, they confirmed the suspicious nature of the deaths. "This is an unraveling investigation and we are unable to provide more details about the deceased persons at this time," RCMP spokesperson stated. He urged residents to avoid the area until police could resolve the situation. His post garnered support from community members who expressed their condolences and concern.

The atrocities have also drawn responses from nearby communities. Chief Erica Beaudin from Cowessess First Nation expressed her support on social media, stating, "While we will stand and wait to assist our kin and neighbors, we will continue to hold the families and Nation in our prayers. Reports of the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Keagan Panipekeesick, described him as being 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing around 170 pounds. Authorities have advised residents to remain vigilant and avoid engaging with the suspect if encountered.
