Gamers often find themselves pressed between two keys, say, left and right, and if both are activated at the same time, nothing happens. Comparisons have been drawn to controversies within fighting games, where similar features led to charges of cheating or unfair play. Take the notion of "simultaneous opposing cardinal directions" or SOCD. There's been friction there, too. Competitive players have utilized gear allowing instantaneous shifts between inputs, disrupting what games like Street Fighter and Tekken were originally built for.
