Rachel Kolisi Steps Down As Kolisi Foundation CEO Amid Divorce

The former CEO launches fitness challenge as she embarks on a new chapter.

Rachel Kolisi has officially stepped down as CEO of the Kolisi Foundation, marking the end of her tenure at the charity she co-founded with her estranged husband, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi. This transition follows her recent divorce from Siya, which was made public last October, and reflects significant personal changes for Rachel as she embarks on what she describes as her next chapter.

Founded in 2019 with the aim of addressing pressing societal issues such as gender-based violence (GBV), education, and food security, the Kolisi Foundation has been at the forefront of advocating for social change. Rachel announced her departure on February 28, 2025, and the news was met with overwhelming support and recognition from the community, particularly from organizations dedicated to GBV issues.

The Justice Desk, a prominent anti-GBV NGO, took to Instagram to honor Rachel's contributions. “This morning, we had the privilege of joining fellow GBV organisations to surprise Rachel with a heartfelt farewell. Her unwavering support for our work has been truly impactful,” they wrote, sharing photos from the celebration. They expressed sadness over her resignation but were confident she would continue to inspire and advocate for change, stating, “Rachel, you will always be a GBV activist at heart.”

Responding to the kind words, Rachel shared her gratitude, saying, “Love and appreciate you all so much.” This farewell is laden with emotion as it signifies not only the end of her time as CEO but also the mark she has left on the hearts of those within the community. Her leadership has driven numerous initiatives aimed at uplifting marginalized communities.

While Rachel’s departure is notable, it is also overshadowed by her changing personal life. The public learned of her divorce from Siya Kolisi, with whom she shares two children, Nicholas and Keziah, as well as Siya's siblings, Liyema and Liphelo, who have also been part of their family dynamic. Expressing the emotional toll of parenting during this transition, Rachel has been open about her struggles, emphasizing, “I’m taking it one hour at a time.”

Despite stepping down, Rachel remains committed to advocacy. She has announced the launch of a 21-day fitness challenge set to begin on March 10, 2025, which she describes as “simple, easy, and super effective.” Collaboratively working with Jeff Fitness, Rachel aims to incorporate her experiences and healing through exercise, reaching out to women around the globe.

“I have received thousands of messages from women all over the world sharing their stories of heartbreak, loss, devastation and disparity,” Rachel wrote on Instagram. “And almost always they ask, ‘Where did you start your healingjourney?' It was here. Exercising.”

This initiative reflects not only a personal therapeutic endeavor but also her intention to engage and support others who may be facing similar emotional challenges. Rachel’s new path sees her stepping away from the directorial role but continuing to impact lives positively, which aligns with the foundational ethos of the Kolisi Foundation.

The Kolisi Foundation expressed its continued commitment to ensuring stability and continuity following Rachel’s resignation. The organization's focus will remain on its key issues, fostering the vision Rachel and Siya once dreamed of together. Many within the community are optimistic about the future work of the foundation and the new directions it may take.

Fans and supporters have taken to social media in droves to wish Rachel well. One supporter commented, “All the best with your future @rachelkolisi,” reinforcing the widespread affection and respect she has garnered. Another added, “You’re a blessing @rachelkolisi ❤️,” showcasing the deep connection Rachel has established with her followers through her authenticity and open dialogue about her life.

Rachel's departure from the Kolisi Foundation not only marks the end of her official capacity as its CEO but also opens up possibilities for her to explore new avenues of advocacy and personal growth. While her future plans remain somewhat under wraps, the foundation's legacy continues to thrive, aiming for lasting change and uplifting communities. The collective voice of gratitude from the organizations she has partnered with acts as a testimony to her influence, heightening anticipation for her continued efforts.

Many are left wondering what Rachel Kolisi's next chapter will entail and how her unwavering spirit will contribute to the discourse surrounding social issues. With her past initiatives and current focus on health and fitness, fans can expect to see her embrace new challenges with the same passion she has shown throughout her career.
