Her Majesty the Queen of Thailand participated enthusiastically
in the recent charity running event called "Run For Wheels#4",
held at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Kasetsart University
on February 23, 2023. Aimed at raising funds for animals
in need, particularly those requiring wheelchairs,
the event drew participants of all ages, running alongside
their beloved pets.
The Queen, showing her commitment to promoting public health,
blew the whistle to signal the start of the 10-kilometer race.
Following her active participation, she graciously presented
medals to the winners, including awards for the top male
and female runners as well as the best runner with a dog.
During the ceremony, Mr. Damrong Sripharama, acting rector
of Kasetsart University, was granted the honor of presenting
the medal to Her Majesty, marking the collaborative spirit
of the event.
The initiative not only showcases the royal family's
involvement but also embodies the essence of community
support and the importance of animal welfare. The funds
raised from this event will provide critically needed
wheelchairs for disabled animals, contributing to projects
like the "Because of Kindness, There Is Life" project,
which aims to improve the quality of life for pets
in Thailand.
Her Majesty's participation also emphasizes the significant
role of exercise and health awareness, encouraging the
public to maintain their health through physical activities.
"There are great opportunities to contribute to the welfare
of animals and inspire everyone to care for their health
and the health of their pets," The Bangkok Insight documented
in its coverage.
Designed to raise awareness, the "Run For Wheels" event
is part of broader efforts to promote exercise, strengthen
the bond between pets and their owners, and call attention
to the condition of disabled animals awaiting assistance.
The continuous support from the royal family plays a pivotal
role, as such events not only raise funds but also educate
and motivate communities to take action.
Moving forward, the organizers of "Run For Wheels" plan
to use the proceeds to aid the "KU Pet Blood Bank"
and contribute to the construction of animal hospitals
at Kasetsart University, ensuring proper care and
medical support for pets requiring attention.
The event holds significance as it fosters awareness
and compassion within the community, encouraging pet
owners to engage actively with their animals and seek
the best for them. By illustrating the positive impact
of exercise and collaboration, Her Majesty the Queen
continues to inspire generations, affirming the value of
health and kindness toward all living beings.
