Qena University Achieves Significant Academic Ranking In URAP 2025

With a global ranking of 997, Qena University reflects its commitment to research excellence and international partnerships.

Qena University has made remarkable strides in global academic recognition, securing an impressive 997th position in the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) for 2025. This achievement is particularly noteworthy as it positions the university among the top 1000 institutions worldwide, highlighting its commitment to academic excellence.

With a total of 2500 universities evaluated internationally, Qena University has placed 14th among 37 Egyptian universities, climbing an impressive 13 spots from the previous year. This advancement reflects the university's unwavering focus on enhancing research quality and fostering international collaboration.

The URAP ranking methodology evaluates institutions based on six key academic performance indicators, including the quality and quantity of research publications and international research collaboration. These criteria rely heavily on reputable global databases such as Web of Science (by Clarivate – Incites), making URAP one of the most objective and precise evaluative systems available.

Dr. Naser Mandour, President of Qena University, expressed immense pride in this accomplishment, attributing it to continuous efforts to bolster scientific research and international cooperation. He stated, "We are committed to providing high-quality research and supporting researchers to create an inspiring academic environment, which contributes to achieving Egypt's 2030 vision for higher education."

Moreover, Dr. Mohamed Saad Zaghloul, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, affirmed that prioritizing quality in research and publishing on international platforms was instrumental in improving the university's ranking. "The focus on quality research and international scientific publications significantly improved our ranking," he noted. This emphasis on producing impactful research is critical in today’s globally competitive educational landscape.

Highlighting the role of collaboration in research, Dr. Sameh Saad, Director of the International Cooperation Office, reflected on how expansion in global partnerships has essential implications for the university's academic position. He pointed out, "International research collaboration is crucial for improving our ranking," emphasizing the need for ongoing engagement with renowned institutions worldwide.

Furthermore, Dr. Ilham Khawwas, Director of the Classification Unit at the International Cooperation Office, conveyed that the university's strategic planning for augmenting academic indicators plays a significant role in its enhanced ranking. "We are working under studied strategies to analyze global ranking criteria and improve research performance," she remarked.
