Lastly, the Workers’ Support and Insurance Fund (WSIF) has been pivotal for over 130,000 laborers since its establishment, as highlighted by Executive Director Kholoud Saif Abdullah Al Kubaisi. The fund aims to protect workers' rights and provide financial assistance. Despite its progress, concerns linger about transparency and the efficacy of disbursements. The fund, established through Law No. 17 of 2018, ensures resources for workers’ entitlements and helps reduce labor disputes.
While significant financial support has been provided, the specifics of these payments and their adequacy relative to workers' total claims remain under scrutiny. Problems persist, such as the prolonged processes for resolving wage theft complaints, indicating room for improvement within the system.
With these initiatives, Qatar showcases its commitment to enhancing healthcare, fostering international relationships, promoting its vibrant culture, and supporting its workforce, illustrating the nation’s broader ambitions and proactive stance within the global community.
