Public Transport Adjusts For Benito Juárez's Birthday

Services modified across Mexico City for the day of rest honoring historical leader

Metro and public transportation services across Mexico City are set to change their schedules on March 17, 2025, as the nation commemorates the 219th anniversary of the birth of Benito Jue1rez, one of Mexico's most revered historical figures. Observed on the third Monday of March as per the Federal Labor Law, this day serves as a mandatory rest day for workers throughout the country.

On this holiday, the Metro will operate on modified hours, from 7:00 AM until 12:00 AM. The service schedule reflects the public's need for reliable transportation during significant events. A Metro representative commented, "During holidays, the Metro service runs from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM," emphasizing the importance of access to transport even on rest days.

The changes extend beyond the Metro, impacting various transportation services within Mexico City and the surrounding State of Mexico. The Integrated Mobility Network, including Metrobús, RTP, Trolebús, Tren Ligero, and Cablebús services, will also adjust their operating hours for the day.
According to the Secretariat of Mobility (SEMOVI), "Due to the holiday for the birth of Benito Jue1rez, various public transport services will change their operating hours." This ensures all citizens have the opportunity to honor the legacy of Jue1rez.

For March 17, the public transport schedules are as follows:


  • STC Metro: 07:00 to 00:00 hours

  • Metrobús: 05:00 to 00:00 hours

  • Red de Transporte de Pasajeros (RTP): 06:00 to 00:00 hours

  • Trolebús: 06:00 to 23:30 hours

  • Trolebús Elevado: 05:00 to 00:00 hours

  • Trolebús Aztecas: 05:30 to 23:30 hours

  • Tren Ligero: 07:00 to 23:30 hours

  • Cablebús: 07:00 to 23:00 hours

  • Servicio de Apoyo L1: 07:00 to 00:00 hours

  • ECOBICI: 05:00 to 00:30 hours

  • Biciestacionamientos: 07:00 to 00:00 hours

  • Parquímetros: No operation

  • Módulos de Control Vehicular y Licencias SEMOVI: No operation

Notably, the Mexibús and Mexicable services are also adapting their schedules on this important day. The Mexibús lines will offer varying services based on different routes, reflecting the demand from commuters who rely on these transportation services.   • Línea III (Pantitlán): 04:49 hrs to 01:01 hrs

  • Línea III (Acuitlapilco): 04:00 hrs to 00:13 hrs
