PSL 2025 Schedule Officially Announced: Excitement Builds For Season 10

Pakistan Super League 2025 will run from April 11 to May 18, coinciding with IPL 2025.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially unveiled the schedule for the 2025 season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), igniting excitement among cricket fans across the nation and beyond. Set between April 11 and May 18, this historic 10th edition of PSL will once again showcase Pakistan's cricketing talent.

The tournament kicks off with the defending champions Islamabad United facing off against two-time champions Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. This opening match is not just the beginning of the PSL's latest chapter but also sets the stage for what promises to be another thrilling season.

With the announcement officially made on February 28, many are eager to see how this season plays out as it coincides with the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, which runs from March 22 to May 25. Despite this scheduling overlap—which has historically posed challenges for attracting foreign cricketers—the PCB remains committed to delivering high-quality matches.

“We are thrilled to officially announce the schedule for the historic 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League,” said PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer. He acknowledged the growth of the PSL over the past decade, reinforcing its status as a globally recognized tournament. “This year's tournament will feature high-profile international cricketers and 34 exciting matches across major cities—Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi,” he added.

The PSL will feature six teams competing for the title over 34 matches, which include the playoffs. Rawalpindi is set to host 11 matches throughout the series, including the highly anticipated Qualifier on May 13. Meanwhile, Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will dominate the venue list with 13 matches, also hosting the grand finale on May 18. Karachi's National Bank Stadium and Multan Cricket Stadium will each conduct five matches this season.

Adding to the excitement, the tournament will include three double-header days, with matches scheduled for Saturdays, and one additional double-header on Labour Day, May 1. The first double-header will take place on April 12, featuring two matches: Peshawar Zalmi against Quetta Gladiators at Rawalpindi followed by Karachi Kings versus Multan Sultans at the National Bank Stadium.

Alongside the excitement tied to the official league, there’s also news of an exhibition match planned for April 8, 2025, before the tournament officially begins. This match will be held in Peshawar, showcasing local cricketing talent and contributing to enhancing cricket's popularity in the region, though the teams participating have yet to be confirmed.

The matches are set to kick off daily at 8 PM PKT (local time), with the toss taking place at 7:30 PM. This timing aims to make the league accessible for both local fans and those watching from abroad, particularly with the significant time difference for Indian and Bangladeshi audiences.

With the recent performances by the national team at the ICC Champions Trophy still fresh, fans are eager to shift their focus to the PSL, hoping to witness thrilling cricketing action and home-grown talents. The excitement surrounding the league's return is palpable, especially with the prospect of seeing international stars participating alongside local players.

Multiple players from international teams, including the likes of David Warner, Kane Williamson, and Rilee Rossouw, are set to feature in this year’s season, adding to the competitive nature of the tournament.
