Arya’s journey to the IPL spotlight began last year during the Delhi Premier League, where his explosive batting style caught the eye of scouts and fans alike. He topped the charts with over 600 runs in just 10 matches during the 2024 season while playing for South Delhi Superstarz. Bharadwaj remarked, “All my life, I have told my students to play in the V, and when it came to Priyansh, I never stopped him from playing the aerial shots. Initially, I did give him dressing down, but I realized that’s his strength, and I gave him complete freedom, and he never looked back.”
In leading dynamics, Punjab Kings will also be under the guidance of Shreyas Iyer, who is beginning his new captaincy stint in this IPL season. Iyer has a strong record, boasting 40 wins in 70 matches as a captain with a win rate of 57.9 percent. As for Iyer’s competitor, Gujarat Titans’ Shubman Gill has faced challenges in his first captaincy role, managing only five wins in 12 games, with a success rate of 41.6 percent.
