Prime Minister Chinh Celebrates Tet With Thanh Hoa Residents

The Prime Minister highlights welfare initiatives and future growth plans during his Tet visit.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's recent visit to Thanh Hoa province during the Tet holiday has drawn attention to the government's commitment to social welfare and economic development. The Prime Minister, accompanied by provincial officials, highlighted the achievements of Thanh Hoa and outlined future plans aimed at enhancing the lives of its residents.

During the festivities for Tet 2025, Chairman Do Minh Tuan reported substantial financial contributions made by the province to support war veterans and disadvantaged groups. More than 420 billion VND (approximately 17.8 million USD) was allocated to assist over 64,000 individuals involved with the revolution and their families, showcasing the government's dedication to honoring those who served the nation.

"Nobody should be left behind during Tet," Prime Minister Chinh stated emphatically, underlining the importance of ensuring equal access to social welfare for all individuals. This sentiment resonates particularly within the province, where the government also provided aid to 187,494 underprivileged families and people with disabilities, allocating over 142 billion VND for social support.

Chinh's remarks came as he urged local authorities to pay attention to the living conditions of workers, especially those laboring on construction sites. He emphasized the need for the local government to organize outreach and support efforts to motivate the labor force at the beginning of the year.

Highlighting the region's diverse landscapes—ranging from mountainous regions to coastline—Chinh pointed out the potential for economic growth. "Thanh Hoa needs to leverage its historical, cultural, and geographical advantages for development," he asserted. This includes nurturing its significant economic regions like Nghi Son, and strategic initiatives such as the expansion of Nghi Son Economic Zone and the Tho Xuan Airport enhancement.

Looking forward, the Prime Minister advocated for significant improvements to the province's housing situation. He declared the objective of eradicaging temporary housing, stating, "By the end of 2025, Thanh Hoa must eliminate all dilapidated houses and temporary dwellings to provide secure living conditions for its citizens." This reflects the government's commitment to ensuring everyone has adequate housing and opportunities for prosperity.

With the new year ushering important anniversaries and key political events, such as the upcoming party congresses, Chinh expressed confidence about the province's future. "We aim for economic growth of over 8% and plan to complete missions for 2025 successfully," he remarked, indicating the ambitious goals set for the province.

The Prime Minister also participated in ceremonial activities, including offering incense at the Lam Kinh National Special Relic Site to honor historical figures such as Emperor Le Thai To, reinforcing the importance of cultural heritage alongside modern development.

Closing his address, Prime Minister Chinh encouraged the people of Thanh Hoa to continue their solidarity and collective spirit as they advance together. His visit serves as both tribute and motivation, propelling the province forward toward becoming a key growth center for the northern region and the entire nation. The government's layered approach—combining social welfare and economic directives—exemplifies its comprehensive strategy to bolster regional development and enrich the lives of its people.
