Poco Launches F7 Ultra And F7 Pro Flagships

The new devices offer high-end specifications at competitive prices in the smartphone market.

Xiaomi's sub-brand, Poco, has recently launched two flagship models that promise exceptional value for money: the Poco F7 Ultra and the Poco F7 Pro. Both devices are making their debut in the European market and are expected to land in Mexico soon, generating excitement among users.

The Poco F7 Ultra stands out with its powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a "flagship chipset that places it at the top of the high-end market at a surprising price." This chip is complemented by up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, ensuring smooth and efficient performance even in intensive tasks. Additionally, it features 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging, allowing for a full recharge in minutes. Its IP68 protection against dust and water makes it a resilient device.

The triple rear camera system is another highlight of the Poco F7 Ultra: it boasts a 50MP main camera with an f/1.6 aperture, a 50MP telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom, and a 32MP ultrawide camera. The front camera also features 32MP. While comprehensive testing is still pending, initial impressions indicate good image quality, with sharp details and realistic colors, though some noise is observed in low-light situations or when using digital zoom.

The 6.67-inch OLED display with 1440p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate offers an immersive visual experience. Coupled with a 5300mAh battery and fast charging options, it ensures prolonged autonomy. The design, available in vibrant yellow and classic black, is another point of emphasis.

On the other hand, the Poco F7 Pro, priced slightly lower, offers somewhat more modest specifications: it utilizes the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, features a 6000mAh battery with 90W fast charging (no wireless charging), and has a rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 20MP front camera; it omits the telephoto camera.

Both models are currently available in the UK and Europe, presenting an interesting proposition in the high and mid-high smartphone market. The design of both models is notable for their thinness, with the F7 Ultra measuring just 8.39mm thick, and its price hovers around $645, which is competitive compared to mid-range brands.

Poco's new flagships, the Poco F7 Pro and Poco F7 Ultra, have been officially launched in Mexico through Xiaomi's official online store. As of March 27, 2025, the official prices are set as follows: the Poco F7 Pro (12/256 GB) for 10,999 pesos, and the Poco F7 Pro (12/512 GB) for 11,699 pesos. The Poco F7 Ultra (12/256 GB) is priced at 14,499 pesos, while the 16/512 GB version costs 15,599 pesos. All versions of the Poco F7 Pro and F7 Ultra are currently offered with a 200 pesos discount until April 10, 2025.

Moreover, during this promotional period, customers will receive gifts with their purchase of the new Poco devices: Redmi Buds 6 Pro and a 50W wireless charger, along with additional discounts and financing options of up to 12 months without interest with participating cards.

Both the Poco F7 Pro and Poco F7 Ultra feature a 6.67-inch Flow AMOLED screen with 2K resolution (3200 x 1440 pixels), 526 ppi, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. The Poco F7 Pro is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, while the Poco F7 Ultra employs POCO Shield Glass and is powered by the VisionBoost D7 chipset.

In terms of processing power, the Poco F7 Pro is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (4 nm) chipset, whereas the Poco F7 Ultra boasts the Snapdragon 8 Elite (3 nm) chipset. Both models offer 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM, with the Ultra providing an option for 16 GB, and up to 512 GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage. Both devices are pre-installed with HyperOS 2, which includes four system updates and six years of security patches.

When it comes to camera capabilities, the Poco F7 Pro features a 50MP f/1.6 main camera with optical and electronic stabilization, complemented by an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle camera. The Poco F7 Ultra, however, enhances its photographic prowess with the same 50MP main camera, an additional 50MP telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom, and a 32MP ultra-wide angle camera. The front camera on the F7 Pro is 20MP, while the F7 Ultra's front camera is a robust 32MP.

Battery-wise, the Poco F7 Pro packs a 6,000 mAh battery with 90W HyperCharge, while the Poco F7 Ultra features a 5,300 mAh battery that supports 120W HyperCharge and 50W wireless charging. Both devices come with 5G connectivity, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, IP68 certification against water and dust, dual SIM capabilities, dual speakers, Hi-Res Audio, Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 in the F7 Pro, and Bluetooth 6.0 in the F7 Ultra.

In terms of design, the new Poco F7 Pro and Poco F7 Ultra showcase a refined aesthetic, featuring a metal frame and a glass back with a dual finish—glossy on the top and matte on the bottom. The camera module has also been redesigned into a circular island. These new models significantly enhance the technical offerings in the Poco lineup, introducing several innovations compared to their predecessors. However, these upgrades come with a notable increase in prices.

Available in Mexico now, the Poco F7 Pro can be found in black, silver, and blue, while the Poco F7 Ultra is offered in black and the classic Poco yellow. With these new releases, Poco aims to establish itself firmly in the competitive smartphone market, catering to users seeking high-end specifications at a more accessible price point.
