PocketPair Publishing Experiences Unprecedented Launch Success

The new publishing arm garners overwhelming interest from developers and signs first project within the first week.

PocketPair Publishing has announced remarkable success following the launch of its new publishing arm last week. Having fielded over 150 game pitches within just seven days, the interest from developers has exceeded expectations greatly.

Manager John Buckley reported receiving more than 1,500 LinkedIN requests within the first 24 hours of opening the arm. This surge of interest is accompanied by emails – 400 to be exact – demonstrating just how eager developers are to engage with PocketPair. Indicative of the digital age's competitive marketplace for game development, this enthusiastic reception bodes well for both aspiring developers and the gaming community.

Adding to this promising start, PocketPair secured its first third-party project from Surgent Studios, the developer behind the horror game Tales of Kenzera: Zau. The studio is owned by actor Abubakar Salim, known for voicing Bayek, the protagonist from the hit video game Assassin’s Creed: Origins. While details about the horror title remain sparse, PocketPair confirmed it was on track for release later this year.

“We’re blown away by the interest we have received from YOU, the developers, and we’re doing our best to review each request and pitch,” the company shared on X (formerly Twitter). This affirmation of their dedication reflects both excitement and humility as they navigate the influx of submissions.

Despite the competitive environment, PocketPair remains optimistic. “Of course, we cannot help everyone, but we’re determined to help as many great games get made as possible,” they assured, emphasizing their commitment to fostering game development.

Since the launch of their original title Palworld, the company has faced numerous challenges including copyright infringement allegations and legal complications with gaming giant Nintendo. Nevertheless, Palworld has carved out its own identity, standing out with its innovative twist on the monster-catching genre.

The incredible works coming out of PocketPair and its publishing arm signal to the gaming industry the potential for new narratives and gameplay experiences. Looking forward, the publishing arm serves as the backbone for PocketPair's ambitions, with aspirations of uplifting diverse game projects aimed at various audiences.

This early success sets PocketPair Publishing up perfectly as they aim to support dozens of games striving to see the light of day, ensuring fans of innovative gameplay have much to look forward to. The industry waits eagerly to see which new titles will emerge from this new publishing venture.
