On December 23, 2024, the Rozgar Mela 2024 (Phase-2) was organized at the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force's Seemadwar facility, reinforcing the Indian government's commitment to creating job opportunities for the youth. Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Ajay Tamta, presided over the event and underscored the continuous efforts made to fulfill the vision of a developed India. Today's event was part of larger employment fairs held across 45 centers nationwide, aimed at distributing approximately 71,000 appointment letters to youths, including those from Uttarakhand.
During the ceremony, Tamta personally handed over appointment letters to 285 youths chosen for roles within various security organizations, including the Indian Army and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Expressing gratitude on behalf of the new recruits, Tamta praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing golden opportunities within government jobs. "Today, more than 71,000 vacancies have been filled through these fairs, with 50,000 positions occupied within the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) alone," he said.
The event, attended by key figures including MLA Savita Kapoor and IG Northern Frontier Sanjay Gunjyal, distributed appointments to aspirants across different roles: 160 positions within ITBP, 32 with RPF, and 29 for CISF, among others. The fair was strategically organized at the 23rd Battalion, Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force to streamline the appointment process.
Shifting to the national level, Prime Minister Modi also distributed over 51,000 appointment letters during the Rashtriya Rozgar Mela, which was conducted via video conferencing on December 25, 2024. He emphasized the importance of economic growth as it brings forth numerous employment opportunities across various sectors. "The pharma industry, currently experiencing rapid growth, is set to create significant job opportunities alongside the booming automobile sector," Modi stated.
During his address, Modi remarked on the promising future of India's economy, projecting it to become one of the world's top three by the end of the decade. His assurance came with the announcement of new roles for recruits, termed 'Amrit Rakshaks'—dedicated individuals who will contribute to the nation's safety and security over the next 25 years.
The Rozgar Mela was more than just about job placements; it also represented the government's initiative to modify recruitment processes for paramilitary forces, allowing candidates to take examinations in various languages. Modi noted the positive correlation between enhanced law and order and increased investment, providing valid reasons for youth to pursue careers within the public sector.
The newly inducted recruits will be introduced to the online Karmayogi Prarambh training module, which features over 673 e-learning courses accessible on mobile and computer devices, encouraging continuous professional development.
