This weekend marks an exciting moment for the Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Pattinaggio Rieti as they make their seasonal debut at the Regional Road Championship in Ladispoli. The event, organized by the Debby Roller Team, is set to take place at the picturesque Piazza del Mercato on March 29, 2025, kicking off a thrilling day of skating.
With athletes from all categories expected to participate, the day promises to be filled with heart, passion, and plenty of competition. The athletes will gather at 8:45 AM, with races commencing at 9:00 AM. As tradition dictates, the first group to take to the track will be the "Cuccioli," featuring skaters aged up to 7 years old. Following them will be the "Giovanissimi" and "Esordienti" categories, with the schedule continuing throughout the day.
The Ladispoli event is not just another competition; it serves as a platform for A.S.D. Pattinaggio Rieti to showcase new talent. Three newcomers will be making their official debuts: Isabel Clara Piccirilli and Viola Vicentini will compete in the "Giovanissimi" category, while Nicole Giacomelli will represent the "Ragazzi". Viola Vicentini is particularly noteworthy as she is the sister of the talented Edoardo Vicentini, who has already made a name for himself in the "Ragazzi" category.
In addition to the new faces, Alessia Di Rocco, an experienced skater in the "Esordienti" category, is looking to bounce back from an injury that sidelined her last season. Her participation adds depth to the team and excitement for fans who have been eagerly awaiting her return to form.
As the athletes prepare for their races, the atmosphere is charged with anticipation. The A.S.D. Pattinaggio Rieti has always emphasized the importance of not just competition, but also the joy of skating. "All participants, beyond the results, will face this day with heart, passion, and maturity, without forgetting the fun, as is the spirit of our association," a club representative shared.
Meanwhile, in Settimo San Pietro, the regional road skating championships are also set to unfold, featuring a packed schedule of events. Starting at 2:00 PM on March 29, 2025, athletes from the Ragazzi 12, Ragazzi, Allievi, Junior, and Senior F/M categories will take to the track at the Cesare Cabras field.
The competition will showcase a total of 42 races, beginning with the sprint qualifications for the Ragazzi 12 category, followed by other age groups. The day will feature a mix of speed and endurance events, including 2000-meter and 3000-meter point races for younger categories, while Allievi, Junior, and Senior athletes will compete in a 5000-meter point race.
The excitement will culminate with Team Sprint races, providing a thrilling end to the day. This championship is particularly significant as it serves as a qualifier for the Italian Category Championships, making the stakes even higher for the participants.
On March 30, the action continues with the Giovanissimi and Esordienti F/M categories, starting at 9:30 AM. Young athletes will engage in a series of races, including sprints of 50 meters for Giovanissimi and 200 meters for Esordienti, along with longer races of 600 meters and 1000 meters, respectively. With around four hundred athletes expected to participate, the event promises to be a showcase of talent and determination.
As both events unfold, the skating community is abuzz with excitement and support for their athletes. The A.S.D. Pattinaggio Rieti expresses its gratitude to the organizers, families, and friends who always stand by their athletes, confident that these competitions will mark a significant step forward in the personal and athletic growth of all participants.
