PapaHome Opens First Physical Store In Hong Kong

A new shopping experience for furniture lovers with exclusive promotions and live music events.

The much-anticipated launch of Hong Kong's first physical store by PapaHome, Taobao's furniture and home goods outlet, is set to take place on February 22, 2025. Located at China Hong Kong City in Tsim Sha Tsui, the store spans over 25,000 square feet, promising to introduce consumers to thousands of furniture and household products.

To celebrate this occasion, PapaHome is not only providing customers with the opportunity to browse through various sections but is also hosting free music concerts featuring popular young singers and bands. These performances will run until April 26, every weekend, creating an engaging environment for shoppers.

PapaHome's store is more than just a retail outlet; it is the embodiment of the online-to-offline (OMO) shopping model, allowing customers to physically interact with the merchandise. This model offers advantages such as being able to test products and scan QR codes for instant information, order placements, and access to exclusive discounts.

With over 100 participating Taobao merchants, the store showcases more than 10,000 items covering numerous categories such as living rooms, bedrooms, children’s furniture, and pet supplies. The arrangement of seven distinct areas ensures customers can find exactly what they need.

During the opening phase, several exciting promotions are being offered. The first 50 customers who visit the store on opening day will receive gift vouchers worth 100 RMB to be used on the Taobao platform. Additional services for pest-proofing, formaldehyde removal, and transportation discounts are also being offered at reduced rates.

Providing low-cost shipping is integral to PapaHome’s strategy. According to Chen Zijian, manager of Taobao’s Hong Kong and Macau Business Unit, 50% of products will have shipping costs below 100 HKD, and 90% will keep shipping fees under 600 HKD. With such competitive pricing, customers can have peace of mind when purchasing larger items without the burden of hefty delivery fees.

People have begun lining up early for the grand opening, with estimates indicating around 100 individuals waiting outside the store's entrance before it officially opens. Among them, Lin, who traveled from Tai Po, expressed his intent to spend approximately 60,000 HKD on furniture for two rooms, including mattresses, bookshelves, and wardrobes. He expressed confidence in the quality and variety of items offered at the PapaHome store, highlighting the convenience of being able to see and touch the products first-hand.

The store aims to create new purchasing experiences for customers, particularly those who want to browse larger items. Previously, many consumers complained about incomplete product offerings and demand for extended options. PapaHome caters to this need by providing extensive selection, promising to satisfy the desires of shoppers seeking unique and diverse designs.

PapaHome is also committed to ensuring continued value for its customers, promising they will not be abandoning free shipping promotions as they had seen significant business growth during recent campaigns. The store’s establishment not only caters to the growing demand for quality furniture solutions but also signifies the continued diversification of the furniture shopping experience for Hong Kong residents.

The opening hours will be from 11 AM on the inaugural day, attracting shoppers and music lovers alike who seek to explore the store and its offerings. PapaHome is ready to revolutionize the way furniture shopping is perceived and experienced, making it more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
