Paléo Festival 2025 Unveils Eclectic Lineup With Will Smith And Sex Pistols

The festival promises diverse genres and global talent as it celebrates its 48th edition this summer.

The Paléo Festival, Switzerland's premier summer music event, has unveiled its lineup for the 2025 edition, promising to deliver diverse musical experiences from July 22 to 27. Featuring prominent names like Will Smith, David Guetta, and the legendary Sex Pistols, the festival aims to attract music lovers from all genres.

This year’s lineup is particularly noteworthy as over 80% of the 120 artists scheduled to perform will be newcomers to Paléo. President of the festival, Daniel Rossellat, expressed excitement during the press conference on March 18, saying, "This year, our festival celebrates the diversity of pop," emphasizing the mix of talent drawn from around 30 countries.

Headlining the opening night on July 22 will be Macklemore, known for his feel-good hip-hop hits. He will share the stage with the French electro duo Justice, creating much anticipation among fans. The second night promises equally thrilling performances, including star acts like Will Smith, who will take the main stage on Wednesday, July 23. Attendees can expect him to perform classic 90's tracks such as "Miami" and "Gettin' Jiggy with It," alongside some of his new material.

Joining Smith on the festival lineup will be hip-hop heavyweights such as Ninho and Niska, who will showcase their vibrant sound on Friday, July 25. The festival does not neglect its rock roots either, as iconic acts like Simple Minds and the Sex Pistols will perform, with Frank Carter filling the spot for the absent Johnny Rotten. Notably, this edition celebrates the 40th anniversary of Simple Minds’ seminal album, "Sparkle in the Rain," promising to deliver nostalgia-fueled performances.

The Paléo Festival ensures there’s something for every taste: electronic music fans will be delighted by sets from David Guetta, performing on July 27, and Lost Frequencies, who will entertain during the festival’s run. Rossellat humorously remarked, "Guetta is the most popular artist this year," highlighting his expectation for the DJ to captivate the audience.

Further diversity will be represented through the Belleville stage, which will host all-female lineups, featuring artists committed to showcasing female talent. The stage aims to provide exposure to upcoming female musicians from various genres.

This year’s Village du Monde is dedicated to the vibrant musical landscapes of the Maghreb, spotlighting artists like the Moroccan sensation ElGrande Toto, bringing their unique sound to the forefront. The Village promises to be rich with about 20 artists performing traditional and contemporary genres, making it a must-visit section of the festival.

Festivalgoers are encouraged to act quickly, as ticket sales will open on March 26, 2025, at noon, with online waiting lines commencing at 11:45 AM. According to the programming team, this mixture of veteran musicians and new faces is set to create electric performances, allowing audiences to explore vast musical territories.

“Un rendez-vous à ne pas louper,” confirms programmer Dany Hassenstein, ensuring enthusiasts will have plenty to anticipate throughout the event.

From heartfelt pop performances by the likes of Soprano, Clara Luciani, and Zaho de Sagazan to the punk-infused energy from acts like the Lambrini Girls, Paléo 2025 embodies the festival's commitment to musical variety and innovation. Each performance is crafted to create unforgettable moments, making this year’s lineup potentially the most exciting yet.

The festival’s previous 47th edition faced criticism for its lack of rock music, but the 2025 lineup strategically integrates rock alongside hip-hop and pop, making it more balanced than ever.

With electric anticipation filling the air as the festival draws nearer, it is clear the teams behind Paléo have worked hard to curate experiences for music lovers of all stripes. Nyon is ready to welcome attendees for another year of music, celebration, and global harmony.

Mark your calendars for the on-sale date and prepare for six unforgettable days at the Paléo Festival. Don’t miss out on being part of this unique musical experience.
