Russian rapper Oxxxymiron, born Miron Fedorov, has been thrust back under the public spotlight as new serious allegations arise against him, including sexual misconduct involving minors. The young women who have stepped forward shared their harrowing experiences on the podcast "Doch Razboynika," hosted by journalist Anastasia Krasilnikova.
According to reports from the podcast, two women, Viktoria Kuchak and Viktoria Mikhailova, recounted interactions they had with Oxxxymiron when they were underage. Kuchak, who met the rapper at 13 or 14 years old, claims to have been assaulted by him at the age of 16 after one of his concerts in Ufa. She made strong statements during the podcast, asserting, "He made clear he wasn’t violating the law. But I openly declare now it was rape, because grooming a 13-year-old child for three years before having sex with her is rape." The age of consent in Russia is 16, underscoring the gravity of her statement.
Mikhailova, another accuser, claimed Oxxxymiron sent her sexually explicit content and solicited nude photos from her when she was just 15 years old. Despite their unsettling experiences, both women eventually came to realize the seriousness of what they had endured, expressing feelings of emotional emptiness and distrust toward adult men later on.
These revelations prompted the inter-regional public movement "Zov Naroda" to request the Investigative Committee of Russia lead an extensive inquiry. The movement has urged authorities to verify the claims brought forth and to identify and interview any potential victims involved. The organization stressed the necessity of establishing the identities of those who have faced alleged offenses and has advocated for possible criminal charges against Oxxxymiron for violations of sexual consent laws.
"We ask to organize and carry out a comprehensive verification of the information outlined in the appeal, as well as the details published during the podcast and recounted through the media about possible illegal actions by Fedorov Miron Yanovich," stated representatives of "Zov Naroda." Their push for action highlights public concern and the need for accountability.
On social media, the discussions about Oxxxymiron intensified following these allegations. While many supporters still express loyalty and admiration for his musical talents, others are appalled by the serious nature of the claims and the potential ramifications of his actions. Oxxxymiron has previously found himself at the center of scandal, with accusations from his ex-girlfriend, Vera Markovich, who claimed to have experienced psychological violence and grooming from him from the age of 15.
Markovich recounted her relationship with Oxxxymiron dating back to when the two met around 2008, asserting he was her guardian and had influenced her significantly after she entered adulthood. Her criticisms were partly based on his past behavior and how he portrayed the relationship publicly. "I take responsibility for my actions," he admitted at the time, admitting the tumultuous nature of their relationship.
Oxxxymiron has not yet made any official remarks on the latest allegations, and his public spokespersons have maintained silence. Throughout 2024, he has canceled various shows, citing health problems which have spurred rumors about his well-being, including speculations about cancer. Now, with the Investigative Committee potentially pursuing legal action, the future of his career remains uncertain.
Despite this, the rapper continues to be referred to as "foreign agent"—a title laden with controversy—after being designated as such by the Russian authorities for actions deemed contrary to the state’s interests. Last year, the government placed him on Russia’s wanted list due to possible breaches of compliance with foreign agent laws, complicated by his current residence outside of the country.
While the criminal justice process progresses, the women involved hope their experiences will evoke awareness about abuse and exploitation, especially concerning minors within cultural and entertainment domains. They carry the weight of their histories as examples of the need for vigilance and protective measures, affirming their desires for accountability.
The podcast has prompted not only public outcry but also reflections on broader societal issues tied to the behavior of influential figures and the impact they can have on impressionable youths. The revelations surrounding Oxxxymiron turned focus onto the mechanisms of exploitation and the significance of listening to victims' stories.
Currently, it remains unclear whether the women will pursue legal actions against Oxxxymiron. What is evident, though, is the shifting narrative surrounding the rapper, as public sentiment may continue to change radically amid such grave allegations.
The outcome of the investigations led by the Russian authorities will likely determine the repercussions Oxxxymiron faces—both legally and professionally—as he grapples with the consequences stemming from these serious accusations.
