Over 25 luxury sports cars were involved in street racing and takeovers on I-75 on Saturday afternoon, leading to multiple arrests by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The chaotic scene unfolded around 4:05 PM near Mile Marker 51, when drivers reported traffic congestion and noted the presence of helicopters hovering overhead.
Upon arrival, FHP troopers discovered five SUVs parked side-by-side, obstructing both the travel lanes and the shoulders of the interstate. A bright green Porsche was spotted performing donuts, with several onlookers outside of their vehicles. This prompted law enforcement to take immediate action as they began to observe more than 25 high-performance cars speeding northbound.
Attention was drawn to the green Porsche parking lot at Mile Marker 63, where officers initiated a traffic stop. They arrested Scott Reback, who identified himself as the passenger of the vehicle, for riding as a passenger in a race competition. The driver of the Porsche, referred to only as “the camera guy,” remains unidentified.
Meanwhile, at 4:09 PM, additional reports were made of street takeover activity. Troopers responded to the scene where they observed a blue Porsche committing illegal maneuvers, including making U-turns. The vehicle, which was unregistered, was impounded, and its driver, 39-year-old Fathi Rashed, received a misdemeanor notice to appear in court.
The FHP also recorded another thrilling incident involving a blue two-door Ferrari engaging with multiple exotic cars on the same highway. Reportedly, this Ferrari, lacking any license plate, was clocked at staggering speeds of 148 mph, well above the posted 70 mph limit. Officers initiated another traffic stop and arrested the driver, identified as Andrew Mumtaz Tadras from New York.
