Osteopath Torben Harsborg, aged 63, is facing serious charges after admitting to spying on university students undressing at their residences.
According to reports, Harsborg made at least 60 videos of women between 2019 and 2023, often using sophisticated equipment such as cameras and telescopes. His nefarious activities came to light when he was caught by police near university halls carrying cameras and observational tools.
On December 10, 14, and 21 of this year, Harsborg was found outside student accommodations located in Islington, North London, peering through windows and recording students without their consent. It is believed these incidents might represent only the “tip of the iceberg,” as police fear there are possibly more victims and wider criminal activities.
The prosecution, led by Zahid Hussain, presented damning evidence during the proceedings at the Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court. "He was outside the university halls, spying on students, filming and recording them," Hussain stated, highlighting the violation of privacy these actions entail.
Harsborg, originally from Denmark, moved to the UK back in 1984 and built a reputation as esteemed osteopath, treating muscular and joint pains for many prominent clients, including reality television stars and professional athletes. Some of his well-known clients include the Viscountess Emma Weymouth, presenter Fearne Cotton, and speed athlete Jarnell Hughes.
Despite his professional facade, the recent revelations have shaken many who were once inspired by his celebrity endorsements. For example, he has been photographed with notable public figures such as musicians Ronnie Wood and Beverly Knight and popular YouTuber KSI.
Initially arrested and charged with three counts of spying, Harsborg has remained in custody pending sentencing next month. Authorities seized several electronic devices from Harsborg's home during their investigation, which they have yet to analyze. Prosecutors believe these could reveal additional evidence of wrongdoing.
