People from various walks of life have come together to make this year’s event extraordinary. This year’s parade includes 72 floats and numerous groups, such as cheerleaders, bands, and decorated vehicles. Noteworthy participants include: the Stadtwachen, Alexander Illenseer, Antenne Niedersachsen, Roter Hahn Bad Iburg, and many more. The parade symphony features local traditions infused with fresh, vibrant accents from diverse groups, cementing the Osnabrück Carnival’s reputation for creativity.

The Osnabrück police have also issued guidelines to attendees, emphasizing safety during this festive occasion. Police highlighted the regulations around costumes, specifying, “Recognizable toy weapons as part of costumes are permitted, but realistic or functional weapons are strictly forbidden.” They also advised against donning any outfits with anti-constitutional symbols, ensuring the event remains respectful and free from political tensions.

Law enforcement continued, “While there is no official law against terrorist-like costumes, we discourage outfits susceptible to misunderstandings.”
