Opel Sets To Shine At IAA Mobility 2025

The German automaker confirms participation, showcasing electrified innovations from September 9 to 14.

German automaker Opel has officially confirmed its presence at the IAA Mobility 2025, one of the largest mobility events globally, scheduled to take place from September 9 to 14, 2025, in Munich. This exciting event serves as a significant platform for Opel to showcase its newest electrified and innovative models.

Florian Huettl, CEO of Opel, expressed the brand’s enthusiasm, stating, "The IAA Mobility 2025 provides us with the perfect platform to showcase the new emotional and electrifying Opel models. We already offer a battery-electric version of each model in our line-up."
This announcement reflects Opel's strong commitment to electric mobility, aligning with the automotive industry's shift toward sustainable technologies.

Opel has maintained a longstanding tradition at the IAA, as this will mark 60 years since the German brand first presented its European design study. The automaker made headlines two years ago during the IAA Mobility 2023 when it unveiled the stunning Opel Experimental, which provided valuable insights about the future of the brand. Huettl recalled this notable moment, saying, "We have a long tradition at the IAA. We were the first European carmaker to present a concept car exactly 60 years ago – so stay tuned."

At the upcoming IAA Mobility 2025, visitors can expect not only the latest battery-electric versions of Opel vehicles but also additional solutions with zero local emissions. These include hydrogen fuel-cell options available for their Vivaro and Movano light commercial vehicles. The brand's focus on innovation and sustainability is evident as they continue to evolve and adapt to meet the market's growing demands.

Following the success of the Opel Experimental, many features were introduced to the new Opel Grandland, reinforcing the connection between innovation and design. The new Grandland features the 3D Vizor, which integrates the Opel Blitz emblem for the first time with the new 'Edge Light' technology. This design continues the theme of the 'Opel Compass' seen earlier, merging functionality with aesthetics.

Engaging consumers and the media alike, the Grandland shoots for unique branding with illuminated elements—another first for Opel cars. The rear of the vehicle highlights the illuminated OPEL lettering influenced by the Experimental's signature features.

With this participation, Opel reaffirms its intent to lead the way toward electrification and boost its presence within the mobility sector.
