The attack left 145 dead and 551 injured, marking one of the deadliest terrorist assaults in recent Russian history.

As investigations continued, chilling details have emerged about the attackers’ plans, which included contemplating additional targets such as Red Square. Elena remembers, "Maxim saw people in panic and stepped aside to help them get out, displaying exceptional courage even in the face of danger. He helped save at least ten others that night." Now, she fights through unimaginable grief, yearning for her son and his loving spirit.

The investigative committee has reported that their efforts identified those responsible for the attack, with thorough investigations uncovering that the terrorist group involved coordinated activities with international operatives. Currently, 19 suspects have been detained, while others remain at large. Central to the investigation, four individuals were arrested, having played direct roles in the planning and execution of the attack.
