One Hundred Label Takes Legal Action Against Online Defamation

The agency partners with hello82 to promote THE BOYZ's new album amid rising concerns about artist safety.

One Hundred Label has taken decisive steps to shield its artists from the scourge of online defamation, announcing ambitious legal actions against malicious behavior. On March 17th, 2025 KST, the South Korean agency made its intentions clear through social media, affirming, "To protect the rights of our artists, we continuously monitor online platforms and collect reports from fans about defamatory posts and comments. Based on this, we are taking legal action on a regular basis." This commitment to safeguarding artists' rights reflects growing concerns within the industry about internet harassment and misinformation.

Central to this operation, One Hundred has already filed complaints with the Seoul Gangnam Police Station concerning 30 defamatory posts on 'X' (formerly known as Twitter). The agency elaborated, stating, "We have secured evidence of false information, defamation, slander, and privacy violations circulating on portal sites, social media, and various online communities." Adding weight to their message, One Hundred emphasized their staunch position, insisting, "Even after this announcement, we will continue to carefully review malicious posts related to our artists and all company personnel, taking swift legal measures when necessary. There will be no leniency or settlements." Their unequivocal stance showcases not just their dedication to their roster but also their determination to forge safer environments for K-pop entertainers.

This announcement coincided with the exciting news of another collaboration as hello82 established its partnership with One Hundred Label, intending to promote the K-pop group THE BOYZ alongside the release of their latest album, Unexpected, also launched on March 17th, 2025. Hello82, known as the crown jewel among independent K-pop labels within the U.S., will now serve as the sole physical distributor for THE BOYZ’s newest project, enhancing the boy band’s visibility across North America.

To kick off the collaboration, hello82 plans various immersive fan experiences across major U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York City, Chicago, Dallas, and San Diego. These events, taking place throughout March 2025, will offer fans exclusive merchandise, interactive experiences, and special content related to Unexpected. Jae Yoon Choi, CEO and Founder of hello82, remarked on the partnership, stating, "This partnership with One Hundred Label and THE BOYZ is exactly the type of artists we want to sign at hello82, and we are grateful they see our vision to create links between South Korea's powerful music scene and the fan bases around the world.”

Reflecting on other achievements, THE BOYZ's remarkable past lays the foundation for their future success. The group, formed in 2017, has made major strides since winning first place on the K-pop reality show Road to Kingdom back in 2020. They have consistently impressed audiences with their charismatic performances and solidified their presence on various Billboard charts, reaching No. 13 on World Digital Song Sales with Maverick and No. 6 on World Albums with their eighth EP, Be Awake.

Another factor propelling THE BOYZ's popularity has been their transition to One Hundred Label after parting ways with IST Entertainment at the end of 2024. The company's wide-ranging roster also includes celebrated artists like TAEMIN, VIVIZ, and Lee Mujin, offering them the resources needed to amplify their reach internationally.

Since launching its services in 2018, hello82 has proven to be instrumental for many K-pop artists aiming to expand their international audience and strengthen the bond with fans through innovative marketing strategies and live events. With plans for THE BOYZ's promotional activities scaling up, anticipation is mounting among fans eager for opportunities to engage with their favorite artists. Further activity announcements are expected soon, signaling even more engagement from hello82 and One Hundred Label's growing commitment to the K-pop scene.

With strong partnerships and unwavering legal protections, One Hundred Label aims to pave the way for nurturing its artists' careers and fostering the future of K-pop on the global stage. Both the proactive measures against online bullying and the exciting partnerships signal a promising direction for the agency and its artists moving forward, ensuring they thrive amid the pressures of stardom.
