Olivia Rodrigo And The 1975 To Headline Glastonbury Festival 2025

Festival reveals star-studded lineup with fresh talent and returning legends set to take the stage.

The Glastonbury Festival 2025 lineup has officially been announced, promising music fans another spectacular event at Worthy Farm this June. With the announcement made on March 6, 2025, the festival will feature the US pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo and the British rock band The 1975 as headliners, joining the legendary Neil Young, who is set to return to the Pyramid Stage after his unforgettable performance back in 2009.

Rodrigo, who catapulted to fame with her recent chart-topping hits, is being heralded as the first Glastonbury headliner to emerge from the 2020s, and she will close out the festival on Sunday, June 29. At just 22 years old, she will become the second-youngest headliner of all time, following Billie Eilish, who topped the bill at 20 back in 2022.

Rodrigo is no stranger to the Glastonbury stage, having played the Other Stage just two years prior, where she made headlines for bringing out British singer Lily Allen to perform her hit “F*** You”, dedicando it to the US Supreme Court justices who had recently overturned the constitutional right to abortion.

Alongside Rodrigo, Glastonbury will see the 1975 take the main stage for their vibrant performance on Friday, June 27. Known for their incendiary stage shows and diverse sonic style, the band has headlined multiple other festivals but this marks their first time at Glastonbury as the main act. Frontman Matty Healy is known for his provocative performances, which have stirred conversations and controversies alike. Recently, the band has found itself embroiled in legal trouble relating to Healy’s actions at another festival protesting Malaysia’s anti-LGBT laws, where the festival was shut down following his on-stage kiss with bandmate Ross MacDonald.

Reflecting on Rodrigo's ascendant status, Nick Grimshaw from BBC 6 Music remarked, "I feel like they'll be great headliners. They have great taste and great vision – and they won’t shy away from creating something special at the festival." The excitement for both Rodrigo’s and the 1975's performances is palpable.

Saturday's headliner, Charli XCX, will grace the Other Stage after winning high acclaim for her album, Brat, and taking over the charts. Not only is this set expected to be one of her biggest performances yet, but it will also allow her to fully embrace the club-inspired chaos she’s known for, contrasting the folk-rock tones of Neil Young. Glastonbury co-organizer Emily Eavis shared her thoughts, stating, "The festival before a fallow year is always fun to plan. Considering the popularity and impact of these artists, this year promises to encapsulate two years of music and vibes together."

Glastonbury 2025 will also feature RAYE performing before Neil Young on Saturday, June 28. The pop-soul artist has had a phenomenal rise, gaining recognition after her Brit Award-winning debut album, and fans are eager to see how she builds on her previous success. RAYE's performance marks another highlight for the festival, as she steps onto the Pyramid Stage after her breakthrough set from the previous year.

Besides the major headliners, the lineup includes artists making their Glastonbury debuts, including Alanis Morissette, Busta Rhymes, and the viral sensation Doechii. Meanwhile, returning fan favorites such as Wolf Alice, Fatboy Slim, and Scissor Sisters contribute to the festival’s tradition of offering a rich mix of talents across genres.

Glastonbury has set the stage for artists across genres, with other acts like Biffy Clyro, Wet Leg, The Libertines, and more also expected to perform. Anticipation is high not just for the returning luminaries but also for the many rising stars who are ready to showcase their talents to the crowd. The festival organizers are committed to delivering another top-tier festival experience, ensuring there is something for every music lover.

Following last year’s impressive ticket sales – tickets for Glastonbury 2025 sold out within 35 minutes – there will be another limited resale opportunity for attendees later this spring. With high tickets costs, set at £373.50 plus booking fees, fan enthusiasm continues to soar.

Mark your calendars: Glastonbury Festival will take place from June 25 to June 29, 2025, marking the final festival event before the traditional fallow year, which allows the iconic grounds to rest. Ensure you keep close tabs on festival updates as more artists are set to be revealed leading up to the date.
