Oasis Reunion Tour Sparks Massive UK Excitement

The Gallagher brothers return with a 19-show UK and Ireland tour, reigniting Britpop fashion and drawing global fans after 16 years apart

As summer 2025 unfolds, the long-awaited reunion of Oasis has become the defining moment for music fans across Britain and beyond. After a 16-year hiatus following their acrimonious split, brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher have finally put their differences aside to bring back one of the most iconic Britpop bands for the "Oasis Live '25" tour. Kicking off on July 4th at Cardiff's Principality Stadium, this tour promises to be a massive celebration of the band's legacy, with 19 shows scheduled across the UK and Ireland, including seven nights at London's Wembley Stadium.

The excitement is palpable. When tickets first went on sale in August 2024, the demand was staggering—about 10 million fans from 158 countries queued online for 1.4 million tickets. The frenzy even led to complaints and an investigation by the UK's competition watchdog into Ticketmaster’s pricing practices, as standard standing tickets advertised at £135 plus fees were relabeled "in demand" and surged to £355 plus fees. Despite this, fans remain eager, with the band recently announcing a final release of tickets for the UK and Ireland dates, including more than 8,000 extra tickets for the three sold-out shows at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium. This capacity increase, approved by the City of Edinburgh Council after consultations with police and safety officers, allows up to 69,990 attendees per show, up from 67,130, thanks to reconfigured seating arrangements.

Oasis will play Murrayfield on August 8, 9, and 12, marking their first Edinburgh performance since 2009. However, the lead-up to these concerts hasn't been without controversy. In October 2024, a safety advisory group raised concerns about fan conduct and the band's "tone," noting that the predominantly middle-aged male audience might "take up more room," a comment that drew sharp criticism from Liam Gallagher. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he lambasted the City of Edinburgh Council's attitude, saying, "I'd love to see a picture of all the people on the Edinburgh council bet there's some real stunning individuals." Despite the tensions, the tour is set to proceed with robust safety measures in place.

Musically, the reunion has been eagerly anticipated. Noel Gallagher revealed on talkSPORT Breakfast that rehearsals wrapped up on June 24, 2025, and the band is sounding "huge." "Well this is it, there's no going back now," he said, underscoring the gravity and excitement of the moment. While Noel is skipping Glastonbury 2025 to focus on the tour, the band’s energy is unmistakable as they prepare to light up stadiums from Cardiff to Dublin and beyond.

Oasis fans attending the shows are also gearing up fashion-wise, embracing the "bloke core" style that the Gallaghers helped define in the '90s. The reunion has sparked a resurgence of Britpop fashion staples: bucket hats, polo shirts, zip-up track jackets, oversized parkas, and baggy jeans. High street brands are cashing in, with outfit staples like the Damson Madder Remie Shirt (£55), Hollister's Boxy Oasis Graphic Tee (£29.95), Abercrombie & Fitch High Rise Loose Jeans (£75), and Uniqlo’s Cotton-Blend Parka (£49.90) flying off shelves. Adidas, a longtime band favorite, has launched a special Originals x Oasis collaboration, featuring concert-ready gear and footwear, including Liam Gallagher’s limited edition LG2 SPZL sneakers in bottle green from 2022.

Accessories complete the look. The bucket hat, a staple of Liam's stage persona, is back in vogue, with options ranging from classic army green parkas to colorful hats available on the band's merchandise site and major retailers. Sunglasses, particularly John Lennon-inspired round frames favored by Liam, add a retro flair. Notably, the Finlay x Noel Gallagher sunglasses collaboration will donate 255 pairs to the Teenage Cancer Trust, blending style with charity.

For those lucky enough to attend the Manchester leg of the tour at Heaton Park, the full lineup and schedule have been confirmed. Support acts include Cast, the Liverpool band formed in 1992, who previously toured with Liam Gallagher on his 'Definitely Maybe' tour. Frontman John Power described receiving a call from Liam and Noel as "the best news we could have hoped for." Cast is expected to play a 30-45 minute set starting around 6:00 PM, followed by Richard Ashcroft, the former Verve frontman and two-time Ivor Novello Award winner. Ashcroft, whose band once supported Oasis and vice versa, will perform hits like "Bitter Sweet Symphony," "The Drugs Don’t Work," and "Lucky Man." Oasis themselves are slated to take the stage around 8:00 PM, promising a longer set to close out the night. Gates open at 3:00 PM, with music finishing around 10:30 PM and food vendors staying open until 11:00 PM.

The tour is not just a homecoming for Oasis but a global event. Beyond the UK and Ireland, the band will play cities including Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, Sydney, Buenos Aires, Santiago, and São Paulo. To celebrate, Oasis Live '25 Fan Stores have popped up across the UK, starting in Manchester, offering fans merchandise and memorabilia to get into the spirit.

Despite the years apart and past tensions, the Gallagher brothers' reunion has captured the imagination of millions. As the tour approaches, fans are buzzing with anticipation, debating who their favorite Gallagher is, and reviving the Britpop style that defined a generation. The Oasis Live '25 tour promises not just a series of concerts but a cultural moment—one that bridges past and present, music and fashion, and old rivalries with new beginnings.
