Nvidia Unveils GeForce RTX 5060 Series Graphics Cards

The new RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti promise enhanced performance and affordability for gamers and creators.

Nvidia has officially unveiled its latest gaming graphics cards, the GeForce RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti, which promise to deliver enhanced performance for gamers and content creators alike. With a starting price of $299 for the base model and $429 for the higher-end version, these new additions to the RTX 50 series are set to hit the market on April 16, 2025.

The RTX 5060 Ti, the more powerful of the two, is built on the new GB206 die and boasts 4608 CUDA cores. It features a base clock speed of 2.41 GHz and a boost clock of 2.57 GHz. Buyers will have the option of choosing between two memory configurations: 8 GB and 16 GB of GDDR7, both clocked at a speedy 28 Gbps with a 128-bit bus. The power consumption for this model is rated at 180 watts.

On the other hand, the base RTX 5060 model is equipped with 3840 CUDA cores, a base clock of 2.28 GHz, and a boost clock of 2.5 GHz. Unlike the Ti variant, it offers only a single memory option of 8 GB GDDR7, with a total power consumption of 145 watts. This model will be available starting in May 2025, priced at $299 (approximately 25,000 rubles).

Both graphics cards are built on the advanced Blackwell architecture and utilize TSMC's 4N manufacturing process. They also feature the latest 5th generation Tensor cores and 4th generation RT cores, enabling cutting-edge ray tracing and AI capabilities.

One of the standout features of the RTX 50 series is the support for DLSS 4 (Deep Learning Super Sampling), which significantly enhances frame rates in games through AI scaling. This technology allows for smoother gameplay and improved graphics quality, making these cards particularly appealing for gamers looking to upgrade their systems.

In terms of performance, early benchmarks suggest that both the RTX 5060 Ti and the RTX 5060 outperform their predecessors, the RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060, by approximately 20-25% in featured games. This performance boost, coupled with lower starting prices compared to the previous generation, positions the RTX 50 series as an attractive upgrade option.

Nvidia has also announced mobile versions of the RTX 5060, which will be available in laptops starting at $1099 (around 91,000 rubles). This move reflects the growing demand for powerful graphics solutions in portable devices, catering to gamers and professionals who require performance on the go.

Palit Microsystems Ltd. has also jumped into the fray with its own series of RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 video cards. These graphics cards, based on Nvidia's Blackwell architecture, are designed to provide revolutionary possibilities for both gamers and content creators.

The Palit Infinity 3 series, specifically designed for small form factor (SFF) PCs, measures just 292 x 117 x 42 mm, making it 45% smaller than standard RTX 50 models with three fans. This compact design does not compromise performance, as it still supports Nvidia's powerful DLSS 4 technology, enabling users to enhance their gaming experience significantly.

Equipped with powerful AI capabilities, the Infinity 3 series allows users to create images at unprecedented speeds and unlock their creative potential with Nvidia Studio. Additionally, users can access Nvidia NIM microservices, which empower developers to build AI assistants and workflows with maximum efficiency.

For those who prefer a classic cooling solution, Palit's Dual series offers a sleek design with two 95 mm diameter fans that improve airflow for better cooling. Available with the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti (8 GB) and RTX 5060, this series combines performance with style, featuring an elegant black finish and customizable 3D-printed cases.

With the introduction of these new graphics cards, Nvidia and Palit are not only catering to the needs of gamers but also addressing the rising demand from content creators and AI enthusiasts. The combination of compact design, high performance, and innovative features makes these graphics cards suitable for a wide range of applications.

As the launch date approaches, anticipation is building among gamers eager to test the capabilities of the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti. Independent performance tests are expected to surface shortly, providing valuable insights into how these new cards stack up against the competition.

Overall, the release of the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti represents a significant step forward in graphics technology, offering consumers powerful tools for gaming and creative endeavors at competitive price points. With the backing of Nvidia's advanced architecture and Palit's innovative designs, these graphics cards are poised to make a lasting impact in the gaming industry.
