NTA To Announce JEE Main 2025 Results By April 17

Candidates can check their scores on the official NTA website after the results are released

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to announce the results for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 Session Two Paper 1 by April 17, 2025. Candidates who appeared for the exam will be able to check their results on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, using their application number and password.

The JEE Main 2025 Session Two exams took place from April 2 to April 9, 2025, for Paper 1 (BE, BTech), while Paper 2 (BArch and BPlan) was conducted on April 9, 2025. The NTA conducted these exams at 531 centres across 285 cities in India and 15 cities abroad, ensuring a wide reach for aspiring engineers.

In preparation for the results, the NTA released the provisional answer key for Session Two Paper 1 on April 11, 2025. Candidates were given the opportunity to raise objections against the answer key until April 13, 2025, by paying a fee of Rs 200 per question. This process allows for transparency and fairness in the evaluation of candidates' performances.

Once the objections were reviewed, the NTA will finalize the answer key, which will be used to calculate the results. It is important to note that the revised answer key will be final and cannot be challenged further. Candidates should be aware that the results will reflect the scores based on this final key.

The results will include the scores attained in both the BE and BTech papers. For candidates who participated in both sessions of the JEE Main 2025, the NTA will consider the best of the two scores to determine their overall ranking. This means that students have a fair chance to improve their standing based on their performance across both attempts.

For those who rank within the top 2.5 lakh performers in the JEE Main 2025 exam, eligibility to appear for the JEE Advanced 2025 exam will be granted. JEE Advanced serves as a gateway to admission into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), making it a crucial step for aspiring engineers.

The JEE Main 2025 has seen significant participation, with over 12.5 lakh candidates registering for Paper 1 in Session 1. Out of these, 12,58,136 candidates (a remarkable attendance rate of 95.93%) took the exam. Among the participants, 4,24,810 were female candidates. This year also saw 14 candidates achieve a perfect NTA score of 100 in the January session, underscoring the high level of competition.

Om Prakash Behera, one of the top scorers, shared his study routine, which included eight to nine hours of self-study daily. He emphasized the importance of self-analysis, stating, "After every test, I would analyse my mistakes and work on not repeating them in the next test." His goal is to pursue a BTech in computer science and engineering at IIT Bombay, showcasing the aspirations of many candidates.

As the results approach, candidates are eagerly anticipating their scores and the potential impact on their future academic paths. The NTA has confirmed that the results will be made available on the official website, where students can also find the final answer key and the list of toppers.

For candidates who are concerned about the marking scheme, the NTA has clarified that four marks will be awarded for each correct answer, while one mark will be deducted for incorrect responses. This scoring system is designed to encourage accuracy and discourage guessing.

In response to concerns about discrepancies in the provisional answer key, the NTA has urged candidates to refrain from drawing premature conclusions. The agency stated on its official X account, "Drawing conclusions based on the provisional answer keys is not desirable. NTA would like to advise and inform candidates that they should not be misled by reports that create unnecessary doubt and anxiety." This reassurance is aimed at maintaining confidence in the examination process.

As the JEE Advanced 2025 exam is scheduled for May 18, 2025, candidates are reminded that only the top 2.5 lakh from JEE Main will qualify to take this next step. This adds an element of urgency for students as they await their results, knowing that their performance could significantly influence their academic futures.

Overall, the JEE Main 2025 exam process has been marked by high participation and rigorous evaluation standards. The upcoming results will not only determine the future of many aspiring engineers but also reflect the effectiveness of the NTA's examination protocols. Candidates are encouraged to stay updated through the official NTA website for the latest information regarding their results and further steps in the admission process.
