NTA Revises JEE Main 2025 Exam Dates Amid Conflicts

Changes help students manage clashes with Class 12 board exams effectively

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made crucial adjustments to the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 exam schedule, responding to concerns from candidates whose exam dates clashed with their Class 12 board examinations. This decision aims to alleviate the stress for students who are juggling multiple important assessments during this critical time.

According to the revised schedule, Paper 1 (B.E/B.Tech) will now take place on April 2, 3, 4, and 7, 2025, with two shifts each day: the first from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon and the second from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Additionally, there will be a single shift on April 8 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This change comes after the NTA received representations from several candidates highlighting the overlap between the JEE (Main) examination dates and their Class 12 board exam schedules.

The official notification from NTA states, "NTA has received representation from a few candidates mentioning that their Class 12 board exams coincide with the JEE (Main) examination date slot allotted to them. Such representations have been considered in order to facilitate the candidates, so that they can write their board exam and the JEE (Main) examination as well and it has been decided to allot another examination date slot to the candidates." This acknowledgment of student concerns reflects a commitment to ensuring that candidates can participate in both crucial assessments without conflict.

For candidates who still find their JEE (Main) 2025 Session 2 examination date coinciding with their Class 12 board examinations, the NTA advises them to reach out through their registered email ID at [email protected]. They are required to submit a copy of their Class 12 examination admit card along with the JEE (Main) 2025 session 2 examination city intimation slip by 5 AM on March 29, 2025. This proactive step is designed to ensure that no student is left without a viable exam option due to scheduling conflicts.

In addition to the exam date adjustments, the NTA has also released the admit cards for the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 for the initial dates of April 2, 3, and 4, 2025. Students can download their admit cards from the official NTA website, ensuring they have the necessary documentation to participate in the examination.

The rescheduling decision follows feedback from students who had expressed concerns about their ability to attend both the JEE Main and their Class 12 board exams, particularly those taking psychology and language papers. Many students had reached out to both the CBSE and NTA for a change in either the timing or the dates of their exams.

The timing for the JEE Main exam is set from 9 AM to 12 PM and 3 PM to 6 PM, while the CBSE board exams will run from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. This overlap particularly affects students who have language exams on April 2 and psychology exams on April 4, creating a dilemma for many who must prioritize their Class 12 exams, which are mandatory for undergraduate admissions.

Despite the adjustments, some students remain anxious about potential further changes. They have voiced their concerns to the NTA and CBSE, hoping for more clarity and support as the exam dates approach. Many parents have also expressed frustration over the lack of official communication regarding the changes, emphasizing the importance of timely information for planning.

As the situation unfolds, the NTA is set to release additional information regarding the admit card downloads, which will begin three days prior to the exam dates. The official JEE Main 2025 session 2 admit card was made available on March 28, 2025, and candidates are encouraged to verify all details on their cards to ensure accuracy.

To download the JEE Mains 2025 Session 2 admit card, candidates can follow these steps: visit the official NTA JEE Main website, click on the admit card link, enter the required credentials including application number and password, and finally, download and print the admit card for future reference. It is crucial for candidates to carry this document to the exam hall, as it contains essential information regarding the exam and the applicant, such as roll number and exam center details.

As the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 exam dates approach, students are urged to stay informed through official channels and prepare adequately for both their board exams and the JEE. The NTA's responsiveness to student concerns highlights the importance of communication and support during this challenging period for candidates.

Overall, the adjustments made by the NTA serve as a reminder of the challenges faced by students during examination seasons, and the importance of flexibility and understanding from educational authorities. With the revised schedule now in place, students can focus on their preparations with less anxiety about conflicting exam dates.
