New Delhi, Delhi, India – Business Wire India
London-based technology company Nothing has announced that the CMF Phone 2 Pro will set a new benchmark in the budget smartphone segment with a best-in-segment triple-camera system and will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 PRO chipset, a compact powerhouse that meets one’s daily entertainment needs.
One of the standout upgrades in the CMF Phone 2 Pro is its camera system, which includes a powerful 50MP telephoto lens, a high-performance main sensor, and an ultra-wide camera. The CMF Phone 2 Pro’s telephoto camera comes with a 2x optical zoom – a first in the segment to deliver high-quality magnification with preserved detail and sharpness.
Furthermore, the CMF Phone 2 Pro boasts a 50MP Main camera with a 1/1.57” sensor – the largest in the segment. Lastly, the triple camera system is completed only by an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 119.5° field of view.
On the performance front, MediaTek Dimensity 7300 PRO chipset will provide upgraded pro-performance with a 10% faster CPU, up to 5% graphics improvement as compared to CMF Phone 1. The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 PRO has a 6th-generation NPU with up to 4.8 TOPS AI computing power. Additionally, it will also boast the segment’s best gaming experience with 120 FPS on BGMI, +53% network boost and 1000 Hz touch sampling rate.
CMF Phone 2 Pro will be unveiled on April 28, 2025. Those interested in staying updated about the launch can sign up at https://bit.ly/3Rmyxsu.
The CMF Phone 2 Pro will have a 50 MP main camera with a 1/1.57" type sensor, the largest in the device's price segment. There's also a 50 MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, which will be the first in this price segment. And finally, the handset has an 8 MP ultrawide with a 119.5-degree field-of-view. If all of this sounds familiar, that's because the CMF Phone 2 Pro seems to have the exact same cameras as the already available Nothing Phone (3a). Of course, the expectation is that the CMF Phone 2 Pro will be cheaper.
The CMF Phone 2 Pro will come with a charger and a transparent case in the box, at least in India. The 128GB 8GB RAM version costs $399.00 or £329.00, while the 256GB 12GB RAM version costs $459.00 or £379.00.
CMF Phone 2 Pro will launch on April 28, 2025, at 6:30 PM IST in India alongside the CMF Buds 2, CMF Buds 2a, and CMF Buds 2 Plus. The announcement, shared today via a promotional image on Nothing’s Twitter account, highlights a best-in-segment triple-camera system, positioning the Phone 2 Pro as a photography standout in the budget market.
The Phone 2 Pro will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset, offering a 10% faster CPU and 5% improved graphics over the Phone 1’s Dimensity 7300. It will include a 33W charger and a clear case in the box, addressing feedback from the Phone 1’s charger-less debut.
Expected specs include a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, rounded edges, and a 5,000 mAh battery, per earlier rumors. The CMF Phone 2 Pro will be running on NothingOS 3.1 based on Android 15.
The CMF Phone 2 Pro’s triple-camera system, with a segment-first 2X telephoto and large main sensor, promises to redefine budget smartphone photography. The absence of OIS might be a strategic choice to distinguish it from the Phone (3a), but its value-packed offering, including a charger and case, seems compelling.
CMF Phone 2 Pro is fully prepared to launch in India on April 28, 2025, at 6:30 PM IST. The phone features an adaptable back panel and a boxy design. The rear panel of the phone has a texcharged back and a visible screw, suggesting users may be able to replace the previous panels, like the previous CMF phone 1.
The phone has CMF branding and a speaker vent. It is expected to receive a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with full HD + resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The phone may have a triple camera system at the back, which may include a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide lens and 2MP depth or macro camera. A 16MP selfie camera can be found in the front.
It can be given MediaTek Dimensity 7200 or 5G chipset of the same level. In addition, there will be an option of 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage. The battery can be 5000mAh which will support fast charging of 33W or more. The phone cannot run on OS based on Android 14.
While the official price of CMF Phone 2 Pro has not yet been revealed, industry hopes show that it will probably fall within the budget-friendly under-₹ 20,000 segment. Given that CMF Phone 1 has been launched at 15,999, it is advisable to assume that the phone 2 Pro will offer a uniform price offer, possibly starting ₹ 17,000- ₹ 19,000.
With the increase in design, display and performance, the CMF Phone 2 Pro's purpose is to draw users in search of a stylish and feature-rich 5G smartphone at a competitive price point. If the right price is set, it can become a strong contender in India’s highly competitive mid-range smartphone market.
