Nissan Unveils Teaser Images Of New Elgrand

The new Elgrand, set for a 2026 release, features advanced hybrid technology and bold design elements.

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has unveiled teaser images of its new Elgrand on April 22, 2025, at the event titled 'NISSAN START AGAIN 2025', which was aimed at announcing the brand's new communication strategy. This highly anticipated model, set to launch in 2026, marks the fourth generation of the Elgrand, a premium minivan that first debuted in 1997.

The Elgrand has long been recognized as a pioneer in the premium minivan segment, and the latest design is expected to maintain its reputation against stiff competition from rivals like Toyota's Alphard and Vellfire. The new Elgrand is equipped with the next-generation e-POWER hybrid system, promising enhanced performance and efficiency.

One of the standout features of the new Elgrand is its rear design, which includes a roof wing that wraps around the body sides, giving it a distinctive look reminiscent of a steam locomotive's defroster. The bumper design is also noteworthy, flaring outwards like a traditional hakama, a Japanese garment. This bold styling is aimed at making a strong statement in the competitive minivan market.

According to Nissan, the new Elgrand will utilize a third-generation e-POWER system that incorporates a newly developed 1.5-liter engine dedicated to power generation. This system is notable for its '5-in-1' modular design, which combines five components—motor, inverter, and others—into a single unit, significantly reducing weight while improving quietness and fuel efficiency.

Akira Sugimoto, the executive officer in charge of Japan Marketing & Sales, emphasized the company's commitment to delivering the best possible product. "Nissan plans to announce four models in the Japanese market by fiscal year 2026. We are passionately developing the Elgrand and preparing to deliver it in the best possible form," he stated. This reflects Nissan's broader strategy to enhance its product lineup in response to customer feedback, aiming to provide more driving pleasure.

The Elgrand's design has evolved over the years, with the current model having been released in 2010. After a 16-year gap, the new model is set to bring significant advancements in technology and design. The official unveiling of the full specifications and features of the new Elgrand is scheduled for the latter half of 2025, generating excitement among potential buyers.

As Nissan moves forward, the company is keen on leveraging the Elgrand's legacy and heritage while integrating modern technologies to meet the needs of today's consumers. The anticipation surrounding the new Elgrand is palpable, as it promises to blend luxury, comfort, and cutting-edge hybrid technology in a way that appeals to a wide audience.

In summary, the new Nissan Elgrand is shaping up to be a formidable contender in the premium minivan market, equipped with innovative features and a design that honors its storied past. As the launch date approaches, Nissan is poised to reveal more details that will undoubtedly capture the attention of consumers and critics alike.
