Nissan Magnite Reaches 50,000 Exports And E20 Compliance

The Nissan Magnite SUV achieves significant global milestones with enhanced sustainability features.

Nissan Motor India has reached a significant milestone with its Nissan Magnite, achieving over 50,000 units of export sales since the SUV's launch, alongside full E20 fuel compatibility across all its powertrain options.

The company unveiled these achievements on March 4, 2025, reporting consolidated wholesale dispatches of 8,567 units for February 2025. Exports accounted for 6,239 units, marking an astonishing 97 percent year-on-year growth compared to February 2024, when only 3,163 units were exported.

"The New Nissan Magnite continues to make its mark not only in India but also in global markets, having crossed the significant milestone of 50,000 export sales. This achievement highlights the growing trust in Nissan's ability to deliver quality, innovation, and performance," said Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India.

Part of this success can be attributed to the recent export of the Left-Hand Drive (LHD) variant of the Magnite, which began shipping from Chennai's Kamarajar Port to Latin America in January 2025. Approximately 2,900 units were dispatched to Latin American markets, and by the end of February, the total LHD exports exceeded 10,000 units across several regions, including the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia Pacific.

The Nissan Magnite is equipped with both naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines, contributing to its adaptability and appeal. Most recently, the naturally aspirated BR10 engine achieved E20 compliance, joining the turbocharged HR10 petrol engine, which was already compliant as of August 2024. This engineering advancement reflects Nissan's commitment to aligning with sustainability initiatives and responding to increasingly stringent environmental standards.

With the introduction of its LHD variant, the Magnite has significantly expanded its reach, now available for sale across more than 65 countries worldwide. This boost reinforces Nissan’s strategy to position India as a key manufacturing and export hub.

The Magnite has been well received since its launch, with features aimed at enhancing both safety and convenience. The compact SUV, part of the competitive market segment, offers over 50 safety features, highlighting Nissan's dedication to quality and effectiveness.

Vatsa elaborated, "Coupled with the New Nissan Magnite's full E20 compliance, our strategy emphasizes our dedication to future-ready mobility solutions, aligning with the evolution of environmental requirements. We remain committed to our India operations, and the New Nissan Magnite's constant evolution is a true testimony to this commitment."

Nissan Motor India, fully owned by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. of Japan, has established itself firmly within the Indian market since its inception in 2010. The company operates both manufacturing and R&D centers based out of Chennai, contributing significantly to the local economy with investment figures nearing $1.8 billion, generating job opportunities for around 70,000 individuals directly and indirectly.

According to recent reports, Nissan is not just focusing on domestic sales; the strategic shift includes emphasizing export volumes. The company’s success with the Magnite demonstrates how well their operations can adapt to global market demands. With January's LHD releases and subsequent milestones, it is clear Nissan intends to leverage its Indian base for broader global reach.

The performance of the Nissan Magnite reflects strength not only within its engineering and design but also within its strategic impetus as Nissan moves forward, showcasing how the SUV is more than just another vehicle; it is part of the larger narrative of sustainability and innovation poised to reshape the automotive industry.

Overall, with the successes achieved with the Nissan Magnite, Nissan Motor India seems well-prepared to continue carving out its niche both at home and on international roads, ensuring the brand remains synonymous with quality, trust, and progression.
