"I have a problem with my heart which caused me to have ischemia last year," she disclosed, emphasizing how her condition had deeply affected her daily life. "It's been two hard years. I was constantly dizzy, my legs trembled, I thought it was just stress. I was always tired and couldn't understand what was happening. Now I finally know," she admitted.
Pelizon's struggles began after episodes of fainting and disorientation, which landed her multiple hospital visits. Initially, doctors attributed her symptoms to stress, leaving her feeling frustrated and helpless. "They told me I had just fainted. But when I returned home, I felt strange. I even experienced memory loss. It was likely the heart issue causing the ischemia last May, compounded by stress, which surely didn’t help," she explained. Now, she is hopeful about her upcoming surgery, stating, "They will operate on my heart, and this should solve most of my problems."
Despite facing these health battles, Pelizon is adjusting her lifestyle significantly. "I’ve had to slow down my pace and completely change my life," she said, underlining the adjustments required to manage her health proactively. These changes reflect not only her struggles with physical health but also mental well-being, as she has navigated the challenges of her career as a public figure.
Pelizon also shared more intimate aspects of her life, detailing traumatic moments she experienced, including issues with a former neighbor who became obsessive about her. "When I moved to Milan, my neighbor seemed kind, but eventually, I realized he was taking pictures of me without my consent. It was disturbing and led me to move back to Trieste, where I feel safer with my family. Now, I am much happier," she recounted, reflecting on how these experiences shaped her outlook on life.
Her vulnerabilities extend back to her teenage years, where she faced pressures growing up within the strict environment of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. This upbringing contributed to her feelings of despair, leading her to contemplate suicide at sixteen. "I felt like I was carrying an incredible weight on my shoulders; I thought this would be my path because I was born to feel like I had to be the perfect daughter. I ran away from home, but I am glad I didn’t end my life. I want to focus on myself now," she said, expressing relief over surviving those tough moments.
Today, Pelizon is more determined than ever to rebuild her life. "I am now focusing on this kind of love, love for myself and healing my body and mind," she concluded, demonstrating strength and resilience after her trials.
