Nicholas Galitzine Becomes New Face Of Emporio Armani Fragrance

Actor captures the essence of youth and freedom as the brand ambassador for Stronger With You Parfum.

PARIS — British actor Nicholas Galitzine has been named Emporio Armani’s new global fragrance ambassador. “Nicholas is an actor of remarkable versatility,” said Giorgio Armani in a statement. “What strikes me most about him is his deep, intense, and magnetic gaze. I see him as the perfect man to embody the energy and strength of this fragrance.”

Most recently, Galitzine and Anne Hathaway starred in “The Idea of You,” from Prime Video. Its trailer became the most-watched of any original streaming movie, and the film became Amazon MGM Studios’ number-one ranked romantic comedy debut ever, drawing almost 50 million viewers within its first two weeks, according to Armani beauty.

This spring, Galitzine costarred with Julianne Moore in the Sky original series “Mary & George.” He was also listed among Variety’s “10 Actors to Watch” in 2023, signaling his growing prominence within the industry.

Galitzine will feature prominently in Emporio Armani’s Stronger With You Parfum campaign, which breaks this month. The scent is part of a franchise initiated by Armani beauty back in 2017 and is licensed to L’Oréal.

Signing onto the project was straightforward for Galitzine, who expressed, “I have a huge affinity with the brand. So I just wanted to get in on the act.” His admiration extends to the creatives behind the new campaign, which is directed by Jonathan Alric. “I’m a big fan of his work with ‘The Blaze,’” he noted.

The significance of fragrance units Galitzine's identity, remarking, “It has been formative for me, especially trying to find my scent and sense of identity during my teenage years.” He described his preferences as warm and leathery, with subtle notes of sweetness—“I like touches of sweetness, but not an overwhelming sort of saccharine smell,” he said.

Galitzine shared insights about the campaign’s making, calling it “a wonderful and bizarre experience.” The actor hopped on a plane to Bulgaria, entering what appeared to be “a sort of Berlin-esque-type club.” He explained, “The production design was incredible — the lighting, the music, and the styling.” His main task was to embrace freedom, moving and dancing for what he deemed was “a really unique experience,” one focused on energy and creativity.

“I don’t profess myself to be a dancer by any means,” Galitzine admitted. “But it was just very freeing.” The shoot featured the infectious beats of Underworld’s classic “Born Slippy,” which Galitzine reveled in. “Truthfully, I didn’t get tired of it. I’ve not had so much fun doing a shoot probably ever,” he shared, still working out to the same song regularly.

Regarding future projects, Galitzine is set to take on the iconic role of He-Man, directed by Travis Knight for Amazon MGM and Mattel. “It involves three hours in the gym every day — two hours on stunts,” he confessed, explaining how his dedication has shaped his physical capabilities. He shared, “The heavier lifting, both figuratively and literally, began in October. The progression I feel within my body and my capabilities is intoxicatiing.”

Galitzine is also exploring the idea of incorporating fragrance as he immerses himself in characters. “A lot of my favorite actors use fragrance to prep for a role,” he noted, pondering whether scent could ground him as He-Man, humorously speculating he might smell like sandalwood.

Among his film slate, Galitzine will star alongside Emma Corrin and Maika Monroe in the adaptation of “100 Nights of Hero.” He reflected on enjoying his role as George in “Mary & George,” describing it as “leaning onto the Machiavellian-ness, playing with the darkness.”

Galitzine's admiration extends beyond acting as he expressed excitement to work closely with renowned directors. “I had the absolute pleasure of bumping onto Denis Villeneuve, who’s just been like an absolute hero of mine,” he said, highlighting his desire to collaborate and learn from greats like Gus Van Sant, Andrea Arnold, and Halina Reijn.

He conveyed his newfound agency over his career. “There’s so much more agency I have now than I did a few years ago,” Galitzine stated. He continues to manifest opportunities to work with directors he admires, focusing on pushing creative boundaries.

Wrapping up, Galitzine explained his goal to balance large-scale productions with unique indie films, sharing hopes his upcoming works resonate with audiences. “I think it’s just about taking ownership of what I’m doing and pushing myself,” he concluded.
