Capcom hosted a Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase on March 25, 2025, unveiling Title Update 1, set to launch on April 4, 2025. This major update, eagerly anticipated by fans of the franchise, brings a host of new features, including the much-loved monster Mizutsune, a new Gathering Hub titled the Grand Hub, and several exciting seasonal events that promise to enhance gameplay.
The Grand Hub, which serves as an endgame gathering location for hunters, can be accessed once players reach Hunter Rank 16. Here, players will find a plethora of activities ranging from feasting together, arm wrestling, and even listening to a diva sing under the night sky. The hub also introduces a new Barrel Bowling mini-game, where participants can earn vouchers through various activities, providing additional incentives for players to engage with the new space.
The highlight of Title Update 1 is the inclusion of Mizutsune, a leviathan known for its swift tail strikes and water jets. Players must reach Hunter Rank 21 to embark on the quest to hunt Mizutsune, which can be initiated by speaking with Kanya in the Scarlet Forest. New armor sets made from materials gathered during the hunt will provide further customization options for players.
Alongside Mizutsune, an Event Quest featuring the Arch-Tempered Rey Dau will challenge players who have reached Hunter Rank 50. This fight is expected to push the limits of even veteran players, offering new armor as a reward for those who succeed in defeating this formidable creature. Additionally, players can now re-engage with Zoh Shia in a high-rank setting after they reach Hunter Rank 50. This encounter will also allow players to forge a new armor set, expanding their choices for gear and specialization.
For competitive players, Arena Quests are making a return, inviting hunters to battle against each other for the best clear times. These quests can be tackled solo or cooperatively with another player, and rewards such as pendants will be distributed for participation and achievements. Access to these quests is facilitated through the counter in the new Grand Hub.
For fans of customization, there’s good news: Alma, one of the handlers in the game, will now have additional cosmetic options available. Players can change Alma’s outfit through a new menu in the camp, and completing specific side missions will also allow players to change her glasses. This feature adds a personal touch to the gameplay and creates a stronger connection between players and the characters in the game.
In addition to all these new features, a variety of DLC will be introduced alongside Title Update 1. Free and paid options will be available, including classic gestures from previous installments of the Monster Hunter series and an exciting Cosmetic DLC Pack. Players can expect to see new stickers, additional looks for Alma, and even more content as part of this collection.
Players can also look forward to seasonal events, which will bring limited-time changes and special rewards to the Grand Hub. The first of these events, the Festival of Accord, dubbed Blossomdance, kicks off on April 23, 2025, and will adorn the hub with cherry blossoms and new decorations. Other events will follow, including more Event Quests and themed challenges that will keep the gameplay fresh and engaging for all players.
The roadmap for Title Update 1 suggests a comprehensive rollout, with specific dates marked for upcoming content. After the initial update on April 4, the Arch-Tempered Rey Dau will arrive on April 29, 2025, followed by further additions by the end of May 2025. Furthermore, Capcom has teased a second Title Update 2 scheduled for summer 2025, which may see the return of the legendary Lagiacrus, an underwater beast known for its destructive power.
The excitement surrounding Monster Hunter Wilds continues to grow, as these updates promise to bring fans back to the hunting grounds with new adventures and challenges to conquer. Capcom has set the tone for the future of the Monster Hunter series, promising more content, nostalgia, and thrilling monsters to battle.
