Tsukiji Gindaco is set to introduce its new "Nouko Gyokai-kei UMAMI Takoyaki" at the Tokyo Dome, coinciding with the opening of the MLB Tokyo Series on March 18 and 19, 2025. This limited-time offering celebrates the collaboration between the well-known Japanese takoyaki brand and the Los Angeles Dodgers, who recently opened their own Tsukiji Gindaco outlet at Dodger Stadium.
The exciting event marks not just the start of another baseball season but also highlights Japan's rich culinary heritage as it seeks to enthrall fans with this new taste sensation. The "Nouko Gyokai-kei UMAMI Takoyaki," priced at 880 yen for six pieces (tax included), features eight distinct types of UMAMI-rich ingredients to deliver authentic flavors.
"We aim to convey Japan's culinary essence through our new products. This time, we infused the takoyaki with traditional Japanese flavors to showcase the country's unique UMAMI, highlighting our cultural pride," said Masao Sase, CEO of Hotland Co., Ltd.
The takoyaki dough itself incorporates green laver, various types of seafood dashi, and powdered dried shrimp, creating a fresh and savory base. Each piece is highlighted by its signature ingredient, fresh octopus, which is hand-cut to amplify the flavor with every bite.
For the sauce, Gindaco crafted a rich seafood-flavored dashi, combining sweet soy sauce with concentrated dashi made from boiled-down (Katakuchi Iwashi) and Katsuobushi. This mouth-watering blend is accentuated with hints of garlic and chili, creating a truly addictive flavor profile.
To finish off, the takoyaki is crowned with grated bonito flakes, sweet domestic Japanese leeks, crispy squid tempura, and grilled flying fish dashi powder, each ingredient carefully selected to complement the dish's flavor and texture.

This initiative follows the successful introduction of Gindaco's innovative "Cheese & Guacamole" takoyaki, which gained considerable popularity last season.
