New Travel Series "Visit Vietnam" Launches On HTV

The program aims to showcase Vietnam's cultural diversity and beautiful landscapes every Saturday night.

On March 28, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) officially launched the "Visit Vietnam" program, a travel series designed to explore destinations across Vietnam. This exciting initiative aims to showcase the beauty and culture of various regions in a fresh and engaging manner. The program will be broadcast every Saturday at 20h45 on HTV9, starting from March 29, 2025.

"Visit Vietnam" is not just a travel show; it offers a captivating visual journey that transforms each destination into a vibrant experience, narrated through emotions and local cultural elements. Instead of merely presenting scenic spots, the program aims to recreate the authentic experiences of its leading characters in each episode. This approach allows viewers to 'accompany' the hosts, feeling the beauty, culture, and changes in the regions they visit.

Each episode is carefully crafted to fit within five minutes, utilizing cinematic angles, curated music, and a gentle storytelling style. This format is designed to create an intimate atmosphere that inspires viewers rather than bombarding them with dry information. The program targets a broad audience, appealing to young adventurers and families seeking weekend experiences.

The series kicks off by exploring areas that represent modern Vietnamese tourism, where natural landscapes coexist with cultural, spiritual, and entertainment projects. Viewers will be treated to the spiritual beauty of Tay Ninh, highlighted by Ba Den Mountain, the vibrant life of Phu Quoc, and the festive atmosphere atop Ba Na peak in Da Nang. These locations are rapidly becoming some of the top travel destinations in the region and worldwide.

But the exploration doesn't stop there. The program will delve into potential areas like Ha Nam, Thanh Hoa, and Cat Ba, showcasing the diversity of Vietnam's geography, culture, and travel experiences. From plains to plateaus, beaches to mountains, every destination featured in "Visit Vietnam" offers a unique flavor, opening up endless journeys for viewers of all ages.

Unlike many contemporary travel shows that chase after sensationalism or humor, "Visit Vietnam" builds its travel narrative using simple, authentic, and emotional materials. It captures genuine moments—whether it’s a dinner by the sea, a bustling market afternoon, a sunrise view, or a conversation with local residents. Through its visuals, the program emphasizes a sincere approach to travel content, focusing on real experiences and emotions, fostering a connection between people.

Moreover, "Visit Vietnam" serves as more than just entertainment; it inspires a positive lifestyle, encouraging responsible exploration and love for the homeland through real journeys. As mass tourism continues to rise, viewers increasingly seek authentic suggestions rather than polished images, and "Visit Vietnam" effectively meets that demand.

With high-quality visuals and coherent content, the program promises to become a delightful mental treat every weekend, while also sparking new ideas for viewers' upcoming travels.

In parallel with HTV's launch, on the same day, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lai Chau, in coordination with the Department of Tourism of Hanoi, organized a conference in Hanoi to introduce Lai Chau as a travel destination to associations and businesses. Lai Chau boasts a favorable geographical position, stunning natural landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and unique ethnic cultures, making it an attractive destination for travelers.

During the conference, Deputy Director of the Lai Chau Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Tran Quang Khang, noted that while previously, travel companies in Hanoi viewed Lai Chau merely as a stopover between popular tourist spots like Sapa and Dien Bien, the province has now established its own brand with distinctive and high-quality tourism products that can compete in both regional and national markets.

Among the highlights are the ASEAN community tourism village of Sin Suoi Ho, the thrilling paragliding experience known as "Flying Over the Roof of Indochina" linked to the cultural experiences of the Dao ethnic group in Si Thau Chai village, and the O Quy Ho Heaven Gate and Rong May glass bridge tourist areas.

Lai Chau also captivates tourists with nature exploration activities, such as venturing into Pusamcap cave, dubbed the "Northwest's First Cave," and trekking or hiking on mountain peaks, especially during the "Rhododendron Flower Season" on PuTaLeng mountain. Currently, Lai Chau features 20 provincial-level tourist spots, one ASEAN community tourism spot, and two tourist areas that cater to various market segments, including high-end travelers.

Additionally, Lai Chau has over 133 tourism accommodation facilities, including one five-star hotel and 150 restaurants offering traditional cuisine from ethnic minorities. The province is also working on projects to connect the Lai Chau - Lao Cai highway with Hanoi and a road tunnel on National Highway 4D, which promises to enhance accessibility and open new opportunities for Lai Chau's tourism sector.

During the conference, representatives from travel enterprises acknowledged Lai Chau's vast and appealing tourism potential but noted that promotional activities and tour connectivity remain limited. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Vice President of the UNESCO Travel Club in Hanoi, emphasized that while Lai Chau has beautiful landscapes, unique culture, and distinctive tourism products, it lacks visibility. He suggested that stronger communication efforts are essential to help the public and tourists in Hanoi and across the country learn about and appreciate Lai Chau.

He proposed the establishment of a Lai Chau tour sales alliance, which would effectively unite travel companies to enhance marketing strength and facilitate the development of tours and tourism products for a broader audience. Echoing this sentiment, Le Hong Thai, Vice President of the Hanoi Travel Association, urged the Lai Chau Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to proactively share information through various channels to support businesses. Additionally, he recommended organizing promotional activities at border areas between Lai Chau and neighboring provinces to create initial impressions and attract tourists right from the entry points.

Furthermore, Lai Chau should consider creating dynamic promotional videos that highlight cultural features, festivals, and the unique lifestyles of its ethnic groups, establishing a distinct identity. There is also a need to explore nighttime activities and develop experiences tailored to international visitors.

Trần Trung Hiếu, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, commented on Lai Chau's immense potential for Hanoi's travel businesses to exploit. The Hanoi Tourism Department will continue to collaborate and promote partnerships between Hanoi's travel enterprises and Lai Chau's tourism businesses to boost two-way tourist traffic between the two regions in the near future.
