New Podlaski Tourist Voucher Launches April 20

The program offers financial support for accommodations in Podlaskie, boosting local tourism and economy.

Starting April 20, 2025, residents across Poland will have the opportunity to take advantage of the newly launched Podlaski Tourist Voucher, a program designed to bolster tourism in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. This initiative not only aims to attract visitors to one of Poland's most picturesque regions but also provides financial support for accommodation, making it more accessible for travelers.

The Podlaski Tourist Voucher offers subsidies ranging from 200 to 400 PLN, depending on the type of accommodation chosen. The total budget for this program is approximately 10 million PLN, funded by the Podlaskie Voivodeship's budget and additional resources aimed at promoting local tourism and entrepreneurship.

According to the program's guidelines, the voucher amounts are categorized based on the standard of the lodging:

  • 200 PLN for camping sites, youth hostels, and agritourism farms;

  • 300 PLN for 1- and 2-star hotels, guesthouses, and apartments;

  • 400 PLN for 3-, 4-, and 5-star hotels.

"The Podlaski Tourist Voucher is not just support for tourists, but also concrete assistance for Podlaskie tourism entrepreneurs. The program aims to strengthen the local economy through tourism development," stated the Minister of Sport and Tourism.

This voucher can only be utilized for accommodations located within the Podlaskie Voivodeship, which is renowned for its stunning natural landscapes, rich culture, and history. Tourists can choose from a wide range of options, from traditional agritourism farms to luxurious hotels, ensuring there’s something for every budget and preference.

The program encompasses over 560 participating facilities, with a comprehensive list available on a dedicated website, making it easier for travelers to plan their stay. The Podlaskie region boasts attractions such as the Białowieża Forest, Narwiański National Park, and vibrant cities like Białystok, each offering unique experiences.

To benefit from the Podlaski Tourist Voucher, interested travelers must register on the online platform. Once registered, they can make reservations at participating accommodations. After successful registration, tourists will receive a unique QR code, which they can download from the website. This voucher will be valid for 12 months from the date of issuance, providing ample time for travelers to plan their trips and utilize the financial support at their convenience.

As explained by the tourism ministry, "The program gives tourists time to fully plan their vacations while simultaneously providing a boost to tourism in Podlaskie." This initiative is particularly significant as it aims to counteract previous challenges faced by the local tourism sector, especially given its proximity to the Belarusian border.

Podlaskie is known for its unspoiled nature, unique flora and fauna, and rich cultural tapestry. The region is a melting pot of various traditions, cuisines, and languages, making it an attractive destination for both domestic and international travelers. Notable attractions include the Białowieża National Park, known for its primeval forest and European bison, and the picturesque town of Tykocin, with its historical synagogue and castle.

With the launch of the Podlaski Tourist Voucher, local officials are optimistic about revitalizing tourism in the region. Marshal Łukasz Prokorym noted, "Podlasie is a treasure trove of nature and culture waiting to be discovered. Through this program, we want to show Poles how much our region has to offer." He also emphasized that if the allocated budget proves insufficient due to high demand, the local government will seek additional funding to support the initiative.

Tourists are encouraged to act quickly as the number of vouchers is limited, and they will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis until the allocated funds are exhausted. The voucher applications for accommodations from April to May will open on April 20, 2025, and a second round for stays from June 1 to December 31 will follow in June.

To apply for the vouchers, travelers must book at least two nights of accommodation at one of the participating facilities. Each adult tourist living outside the Podlaskie Voivodeship is eligible to apply for one voucher per reservation. Once a valid application is submitted, the voucher will be sent electronically via email, containing a QR code that can be scanned at the time of payment to reduce the total bill by the granted amount.

As the program unfolds, it is expected to not only boost the local economy but also showcase the natural beauty and cultural richness of Podlaskie. The region offers a plethora of outdoor activities, from hiking in national parks to exploring quaint villages, ensuring that visitors will have a memorable experience.

For more information, the official website of the Podlaskie Voivodeship provides details on the registration process, a list of participating accommodations, and the latest updates regarding the program. Social media profiles and tourist information points in the region will also offer additional resources for those looking to explore Podlaskie.
