New Lottery System For Roland-Garros 2025 Ticket Sales

FFT introduces innovative draw process to improve equity and access for fans.

The world of tennis is abuzz with anticipation as the Fédération française de tennis (FFT) has launched its new ticketing system for Roland-Garros 2025, aiming to tackle longstanding issues of accessibility and long wait times. The ticket registration officially opened on January 27, 2025, at 10 AM and will remain open until February 9, 2025.

Last year’s surge of ticket demand and the relentless hours fans spent refreshing their browsers sparked change. "To reduce wait times and guarantee equitable access on the day of the sales opening," FFT has now introduced this lottery-based approach, as detailed on their official site. This refreshing move lets hopeful attendees breathe, as they are informed they don’t need to rush to secure their chance for tickets.

Contrary to what many might expect, merely entering the lottery doesn’t guarantee tickets. Instead, selected participants will be notified via email, which will allow them to purchase tickets during their allocated time slot set to begin at the start of March.

What’s more, the ticket system now imposes restrictions on the number of tickets one person can buy. Fans can now purchase up to four tickets for the main courts such as Philippe-Chatrier and Suzanne-Lenglen, and up to fifteen tickets for the opening week events. This new regulation aims to make the prestigious event more accessible to the general public, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to watch their favorite players live on the iconic clay courts.

The FFT's revisions to ticket sales come after previous frustrations expressed each year from fans facing overwhelming demand and underwhelming availability. This sentiment is echoed by the FFT’s own statements, assuring fans of their efforts to equalize opportunities, with the lottery system being "implemented to reduce the time spent waiting and guarantee access to various offers on the sales opening day." After the registration phase, club managers will have exclusive purchasing capability from February 5 to 10, 2025, with FFT licensees enjoying easy access from February 20 to 24, 2025.

After the excitement of the tennis finals season, where winners like Jannik Sinner claim their trophies, the upcoming Roland-Garros, scheduled from May 25 to June 8, promises another showcase of world-class tennis. One of the most storied tournaments, it continually draws fans from around the globe, who are eager to witness the top seeds compete on clay.

With this new system, the FFT strives to significantly shift the historical narrative of frustrations surrounding ticketing procedures. They have assured fans of implementing the draw “in order to maintain fairness and manage demand efficiently.” It is clear they are conscious of the criticisms and are making strides to improve the fan experience.

For the upcoming event, tennis enthusiasts are encouraged to keep their eyes glued to their emails and to prepare well for their potential shopping sprees. Considering the high demand and competitive nature of the event, it might be wise for hopeful purchasers to map out their desired matches and their respective ticket prices before entering the purchasing phase.

The anticipation among tennis lovers is palpable as fans eagerly prepare for the draw and the chance to secure their spots. This new system indicates FFT's commitment to improvement, ensuring attending Roland-Garros becomes accessible to more fans, allowing everyone to enjoy the thrill of the tournament live. While it's still important to stay vigilant for emails, selecting your matches should be top of mind; when those selective emails land, decisions will need to be made swiftly!

The culmination of excitement surrounding the clay is starting. Who will grab the coveted tickets and witness the drama firsthand?
