New INPS Mobile App Embraces AI For Personalized Services

Improved features allow users to access pensions and benefits more intuitively.

The National Institute of Social Security (INPS) has officially launched its new and improved mobile application, introducing advanced features powered by artificial intelligence (AI). Since its initial launch in 2011, the app has evolved significantly, now aiming to deliver increasingly personalized services directly to users' smartphones.

Presented by Gabriele Fava, the president of INPS, this latest version allows authenticated users to customize their home screens with the three most relevant services, streamlining access to important information. "I promised to deliver this update, and I am keeping my word: today marks the launch of the new app, fresh, simple, and usable. It is aimed directly at all citizens, as we wish to reach them swiftly and easily through immediate, necessary services. This marks the beginning of a new era: app 4.0, or INPS 4.0, if you will. We want to be closer to the citizens," Fava emphasized during the announcement.

With the enhanced design and features of the app, it continues to expand its offerings, with 40 services currently available ranging from pension management to various allowances. The app recorded remarkable engagement metrics this year, with 3.66 million downloads and over 500,000 daily accesses. These figures underline the significant demand for digital solutions among Italians, especially concerning governmental services.

Notably, the new app version provides users with individual "cards" for each service, which can be consulted easily. Users also have the option to manage their sensitive data visibility securely, ensuring privacy and control. Interestingly, even individuals who have yet to authenticate their accounts will find two services available from the home screen: the pension simulator named "Pensami" and the universal child allowance simulator.

Just with one touch on their device, users can check the status of various requests, verify payments for benefits, download pension slips or unique certificates, and access their updated contribution statements or ISEE declarations. They can also consult their social security information and check the status of their NASpI requests alongside their payment history. These user-centric features represent the app’s commitment to making complex processes manageable and transparent.

The integration of AI not only personalizes user experiences but helps INPS streamline and improve service delivery, signifying a major leap toward modernizing how citizens interact with their social security systems. Fava noted, "Many citizens are already using AI on the INPS website, and with this update to the mobile app, we aim to expand those capabilities even more, ensuring our tools are useful and accessible to everyone who needs them."

For those skeptics still holding onto traditional methods, the prompt for the app's adoption has never been clearer. Not only is the new design more user-friendly, but it is also equipped with functionalities aimed at reducing wait times for services and enhancing overall satisfaction among users. INPS is stepping up its game, and the new app serves as the first step toward fostering greater interaction and dependence on digital platforms for public services.

So, for anyone who hasn’t yet downloaded the updated INPS mobile app, the call to action is strong—join the two-thirds of fellow citizens who are taking advantage of this technological leap. With just one touch, the app brings governmental support and services directly to the palm of your hand, making life easier during these rapidly changing times.

Embracing these innovations reflects Italy's commitment to responsive governance, marking significant progress toward achieving greater efficiency and inclusivity within social security processes. The future of public services is bright with such developments set to redefine our relationship with technology and our expectation from governmental institutions. It's clear, the age of INPS 4.0 is here, and it beckons us all to participate.
