New Funko Pop Features Captain America From Civil War

Funko releases exclusive Captain America figure as box office for latest film surpasses expectations.

Since its debut with 2008's Iron Man, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has generated a massive amount of merchandise, with Funko leading the charge through its extensive line of Pop vinyl figures. The latest addition to this collection is the limited-edition Funko Pop of Chris Evans as Captain America, launched as part of the WonderCon 2025 exclusive set. This figure is modeled after Captain America's look from Captain America: Civil War, showcasing the hero minus his iconic Avengers "A" patch on his shoulder and featuring battle-damaged facial details. Encompassing the essence of Captain America, this release includes one of his popular catchphrases alongside the figure: "I Can Do This All Day!"

Alongside the Captain America figure, Evans' legacy within the MCU continues to resonate strongly, as he portrayed the character across nine films over nearly ten years. His performances defined the character of Steve Rogers from the early days of the MCU through to Avengers: Endgame, where he passed the shield to Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson. Even though Steve Rogers is not the protagonist of Marvel's recent releases, particularly the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World, his influence remains central to the narrative.

Meanwhile, Captain America: Brave New World has been making waves at the box office, surpassing the significant milestones of its predecessor. Released to mixed reviews, the film managed to cross the $150 million mark domestically this past weekend. According to box office tracking by Luiz Fernando, it is on course to overtake the original Captain America: The First Avenger based on domestic earnings after maintaining steady attendance.

Initially released back in 2011, The First Avenger starred Evans as Steve Rogers and brought audiences to the world of Marvel with its engaging storyline, strong ensemble cast, and the birth of the iconic superhero. The film grossed approximately $176.65 million in the United States and realized nearly $370.56 million globally. Now, it appears Brave New World is poised to surpass these figures, having accrued $163.7 million domestically as of March 3, 2025.

During its third weekend, Captain America: Brave New World reported earnings of around $15 million—slightly higher than the original 2011 film's weekend gross of $13 million. Projections suggest the film could see total domestic earnings between $195 million and $215 million by the time its run concludes, especially as it faces little immediate competition.

Internationally, Brave New World has already gathered $178.1 million, bringing its global total to about $341.79 million, which is likely to climb as various markets continue to screen the film. With this performance, Anthony Mackie's installment of the character has become one of the standout entries within recent MCU releases, even exceeding expectations set by other recent films like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

For fans eager to revisit Evans' portrayal of Captain America, his original trilogy is currently available for streaming on Disney+. These include the critically acclaimed Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Captain America: Civil War. Audiences can also secure tickets for the latest installment, Captain America: Brave New World, through Fandango.

The cultural impact of Captain America continues to thrive through merchandise like the new Funko Pop, highlighting Evans' enduring popularity as the character. Despite shifting narratives within the MCU, the character's legacy remains influential, as evidenced by the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World, which centers on Sam Wilson's efforts to honor the hero's legacy.

Overall, both the merchandise and the films reflect the rising visibility and transformative storyline of the MCU, ensuring the legacy of Captain America—and Chris Evans as this iconic hero—will continue to live on for years to come.
