On March 17, 2025, the premiere of the new eight-episode comedy series Polozhenie Veschey will take place on the STS TV channel. This innovative series tells the enchanting story of Vadim, a special agent who, following a bizarre accident, discovers he can talk to objects.
Vadim, the protagonist, played by Nikita Panfilov, experiences this unusual turn of fate after he is struck by a heavy statue during a robbery at a museum. The injury leads him to wake up unexpectedly with the strange newfound ability to communicate with various objects around him. This quirky premise offers not just laughs but also provides the platform for character development and exploration of personal issues, as Vadim learns to navigate his way through life with this unusual skill.
Joining Panfilov are Alexandra Florinskaya and Marusya Klimova, both of whom bring depth to the narrative. The driving force behind the series is director Denis Karro, known for his work on projects such as Akusher, Serzhant, and Anna-detektiv.
On the surface, Vadim seems like any other ordinary guy, described by Panfilov as "closed, simple, and straightforward." He humorously asserts, "The fact he suddenly received such a gift is the most interesting part. I definitely would not want to hear objects; it could drive anyone mad. To my mind, the only gift necessary for humans is the ability to stop time." This lighthearted take on the inherent strangeness of his character's abilities adds depth to the comedic elements.
To get Vadim back on track and mitigate his interactions with disconcerting objects, his therapist sends him to work at an antique salon, guided by the salon's owner and her advisor. The setting plays a significant role in reflecting the series’ whimsical narrative, with much of the action taking place within this curiously furnished space.
The antique salon, which serves as the principal location of the show, was constructed at the Mosfilm pavilion, adorned with authentic mirrors, lamps, sofas, and candelabras dating back to the 19th and 20th centuries. According to Anastasia Vorobyova, the art assistant responsible for props, the aim was to create something unusual and engaging, with all items being authentic and true to their era.
Finding well-suited props was no small task. The production team sourced some items from Mosfilm itself, others from flea markets, and some were individually hunted down by crew members. Among the acquired jewelry are vintage pieces, including Chanel's 1993 necklace, Givenchy's 1990s designs, and even antique items like the snake bracelet with 19th-century enamel and sixties runway clips.
Aimed at bringing delight and humor to audiences, Polozhenie Veschey navigates comedic territory exploring Vadim's interactions not only with the world around him but also with his personal struggles and search for love. With his ability to converse with objects by his side, viewers can anticipate hilarity and heartfelt moments as he embarks on this extraordinary path.
For viewers eagerly awaiting the series, don't miss the premiere of Polozhenie Veschey on the STS channel, airing this Monday, March 17, at 19:00. This whimsical new project promises to be as entertaining as it is imaginative, and resonates with anyone who enjoys light comedy and unique storytelling.
