New Comedy Series Bloggers In Captivity Premieres Today

Stars of Comedy Club navigate life under house arrest in rural Russia

Today, April 28, 2025, marks the premiere of the comedy series "Bloggers in Captivity" on the TNT channel, scheduled for 20:00. This new show features popular Comedy Club stars Ekaterina Shkuro and Timur Batrutdinov, playing a married couple of bloggers who find themselves under house arrest due to tax evasion. The eccentric producer of the duo, played by rapper and blogger DAVA (David Manukyan), constantly devises dubious escape plans as they navigate life in a remote village devoid of modern conveniences like phones and the Internet.

The plot centers around Olga Malinovskaya and her husband David, who are sentenced to serve their time in a secluded village where they must adapt to a drastically different lifestyle. In a twist of fate, their producer Arthur suggests they escape to Belarus, and from there, to Mexico. However, their plans are repeatedly thwarted by a series of absurd circumstances, including injuries, accidents, and even the antics of a village bull named Bor'ka.

As the story unfolds, hope arises when the investigator informs them that if the villagers provide positive references about the couple, they could be moved back to their luxurious Moscow apartment. This revelation prompts Olga and David to attempt to integrate into the village lifestyle, leading to significant changes in their lives and perspectives.

The series also features a talented ensemble cast, including Sergei Abroskin, Evgeniy Shirikov, Valentina Mazunina, Oleg Kamenshchikov, Maxim Konovalov, Olga Tumaykina, Timofey Zaitsev, and others. "Bloggers in Captivity" is produced by the Andreasen Brothers Film Company in collaboration with the TNT channel, directed by Garik Petrosyan, known for his previous works like "Bukin," "Poor Oligarch," and "Mendelson." The script was penned by Narine Akobyan, Vartan Danielyan, and Dmitry Popovich.

This satirical comedy draws inspiration from real-life stories surrounding the lives of internet stars and their often tumultuous relationships with fame and fortune. It humorously critiques the materialistic tendencies prevalent in contemporary society, encouraging both the characters and the audience to reflect on what truly matters in life.

In a statement about the show, the creators emphasized its relevance to today's culture, saying, "'Bloggers in Captivity' is a comedy about our new folklore. About influencers, hype, and attempts to stay afloat even when you have a bracelet on your leg, and instead of subscribers – a tractor driver, a district police officer, and an investigator. It is important for me to make stories that speak to the viewer here and now... This is a story about the clash of two worlds – the Internet and reality – and about what can be gained from it."

As the premiere approaches, excitement builds among fans eager to see how this comedic venture will unfold. "Bloggers in Captivity" promises to deliver a mix of humor and social commentary, making it a must-watch for those interested in the intersection of digital fame and everyday life.
