TERAMO – A new socio-cultural association named “Ambiente & Sicurezza Città di Teramo” was introduced today, aiming to promote civic engagement and address pressing security issues within the community. The initiative, as explained by the president Antonella D’Angelo Gallo, is not intended to oppose municipal policies but rather to oversee, collaborate, contribute, and when necessary, intervene on issues addressed with superficiality.
During the presentation, which included co-founders Nicola Negro and Maurizio Di Franco, Gallo elaborated on the mission of this newly established entity. "Ambiente & Sicurezza Città di Teramo intends to watch over, collaborate, contribute and if necessary 'intervene on some issues treated with superficiality'..." said Gallo, underlining the group's proactive stance on community matters.
The formation of this association arises amid significant challenges faced by Teramo, where rising crime rates and diminishing civic sense have created urgency. Gallo reflected on the current conditions, noting, "C’è, di fatto, un momento di crisi che attraversa la città..." (There is, in fact, a moment of crisis affecting the city), signaling the need for community intervention and vigilance.
The founders anticipate the association will rally numerous citizens around the cause, already indicating considerable interest among locals since its inception. Gallo stressed the importance of communal support, stating the association is open to public suggestions and concerns. By fostering engagement, Ambiente & Sicurezza aims to cultivate responsible civic behavior and reinforce security measures within Teramo.
