Art enthusiasts have plenty to celebrate as two new exhibitions have recently opened their doors, showcasing local creativity and innovation. The newly established Gallery PascalHugo Art in Ieper is set to become a hub for art lovers, showcasing the unique works of its owner, Pascal Hoël, alongside other regional artists.
“I started painting around 15 years ago,” Hoël explains, adding, “I found inspiration in the works of Jackson Pollock and Denis De Gloire. I wouldn’t call myself an artist, but rather someone who has this immense need to express themselves on canvas or through images.” His gallery not only houses his own creations but also serves as a space for other artists to display and sell their work.
Gallery PascalHugo Art opened its doors to the public and is inviting anyone with artistic inclinations to come forward. “Everyone who is even slightly active in the artistic market is welcome to approach us to hold an exhibition,” Hoël asserts, reinforcing his commitment to supporting local talent.
Visitors can explore works at Gallery PascalHugo Art until New Year’s Day, after which it will only be open from Thursday to Sunday. The gallery is located at Tempelstraat 12, Ieper, operating daily from 14:00 to 18:00.
Not far away, on December 25, the attractively situated Gallery Van de Wege at Kerkstraat 33, Putten, will host its own group exhibition featuring six talented artists, each showcasing their unique styles and techniques. This event will highlight the diverse artistic expressions within the region and is open free of charge from 10:00 to 17:00.
The exhibitors include Rina Kaijser with her paintings, Suze Termaat focusing on textiles, Loes van Nijhuis showcasing ceramics, and Ruud Wennink also displaying his artistic paintings. Margje Calis presents bronze sculptures, alongside Wim van de Wege, who is not only presenting his own paintings but is also the owner of the gallery.
“Come and be surprised by the diversity and beauty of the art!” the gallery invites, urging the community to take part in this cultural offering. With free access and the chance to meet local artists face-to-face, this group's exhibition promises to be more than just another art show. It’s aimed at deepening the connection between the artists and the audience.
Both galleries set the stage for local artists to engage with the community, fostering appreciation and dialogue around contemporary art. With each new opening, these spaces provide not only opportunities to buy art but also cultivate relationships between artists and the public.
Those interested have ample opportunity to explore these new creative avenues and to support local talent. Each exhibition offers not just art for sale but also stories, inspirations, and insights from the artists themselves, ensuring every visit is unique and enriching.
Pascal Hoël's spirited approach at Gallery PascalHugo Art combined with the collective showcase at Gallery Van de Wege highlights the vibrant cultural scene thriving within the community. The doors are open not just to view art but to become part of the growing narrative of local artistry.
Whether you’re looking to purchase unique artwork or simply to enjoy the creativity flourishing around you, the new openings at these galleries mark significant milestones for the art community. Engaging with local culture through art enriches our lives, broadening our perspectives and fostering connections.
So, why not step inside and appreciate the artistic endeavors at these galleries? Their doors are wide open, inviting everyone to experience the beauty and creativity waiting to be discovered.
